OT:Coming to Missouri. Lake of the Ozarks. Need hotel help!

I live in Kentucky and we've been coming up to Missouri every year since we got married (almost 8 yrs ago) to see my mother in law. She lives in Stover. Up in the hills, around the lake. One of the closest towns to her is Laurie and then Versailles. We actually stay in Versailles but we're kind of wanting to stay in one of the bigger towns. My mother in law lives in the Ivy Bend area. Which bigger resort town would be closest? None are too close lol but we don't mind a drive, its gorgeous up there. I was thinking Osage Beach or Camdenton. What about the town Lake Ozark? Are there some nice hotels there? I'm not talking about a Hilton here, just something like Comfort Inn or something. Any tips would be appreciated. We're coming up Nov 22 thru Nov 25 and I was going to go on and make some reservations. Thanks everyone! Oh, are there any hotels in Laurie? I can't remember.

Hi Angela, I love that area of MO. When we visit that area I always use this website:  http://lakeareachamber.com/visitors/accommodations/?main_cat =1&sub_cat=2 You should be able to find a variety of accomodations in different cities/areas in the Ozarks.

Wow, small world isn't it? *L* I don't know where Todd Cty is but I've been to "Hoptown" several times through out the 14yrs of knowing my dh. Hi, One of my best friends lives in Camdenton and we go to the Lake a lot. My favorite place to stay is the Holiday Inn in Lake Ozark.  It's not exactly close to the south end by Camdenton and such, but it has an indoor pool, great views of the Lake and is reasonably priced.  I'm not sure if their name has changed though.  It's possible as those places change hands a lot down there.
