Getting a bit discouraged
Hello Everyone,
Well, I am now getting a bit discouraged. I almost feel like this surgery is not meant to be. I had my consult 2 weeks ago. It went very good. Dena told me that we should not have any problems having the surgery on my school break. Well now I am told they are booked for December. My insurance did not get all the faxed paperwork, it was cut off. They sent it again today. I want to have enough time to recover before returning to school. I start back on January 14th. I have wanted to have this surgery for over 3 years. It is just so close now. I also have wanted to be able to go to school full time. I have always worked full time, so it was really hard to go to school. Well now I am attending full time and I am doing quite good. I need encouragement right now. I know this surgery is the best thing for me.
Thanks,
Kelly
Kelly dont get discouraged. As good as i felt after surgery i could have started back to school the day i got out of the hospital. well maybe the next day really. lol If everything goes like it is suppose to then you should be able to be in school full time within a week. you might be tired but that will depend on you and how much you push yourself to get in protein and water and walk . those three things will be the things that make you or break you. Do they think they can get you in the first of January? if you could get in by the 5th you would have plenty of time to get well.. a lot of it depends on you.we are here for you and hope that all goes well for you. Kelly,
Don't get discouraged you will soon be approved and have a date. I know when I talked to Dena on Oct. 17th at my consult she also told me that Dec. shouldn't be a problem to have surgery. Well it took my insurance over 4 weeks to get me an approval and when I called Dena to see about a date she said it was all out of her hands now and that Margie would call me to set up a date and she did Fri. but I wasn't able to have it the end of Dec. like I wanted. I would just stay on top of the ins. co. and call daily if you have to until they give you an answer then after they give you the approval it usually takes a few days after that for them to send it to the hospital and then Margie to get with you. Just don't give up it will happen and maybe like Jan. said you can have it the first of Jan. and still be able to return to school on the 14th?
Bev~
Thanks Bev and Jan,
I have still been thinking. I am probably going to see about taking my courses at home this semester. I am still going to talk to some of my instructors see what their thoughts are on this. I probably can miss a week of school and be okay. I just need the encouragement.
Thanks,
Kelly
