Feeling Frustrated
Okay, I have been dieting or "chaning my lifestyle... aka eating habits" for this will be the 4th day. No sugars, minimal starches, more protein. My mother told me that I was doing everything 'right'. I measured myself with my measuring tape this evening and maybe it was because it was late, or that it is my time or the month, I'm really not quite sure, but I have gained 2 inches!!! That makes me feel so discouraged!!! I don't know what else I can do. I won't have money to start a y membership for 2 weeks. I'm really feeling frustrated and I am losing my motivation. Any words of encouragement?
Megan
where did you gain two inches at Megan? anyway it is probably the water retention due to time of month. Dont give up I changed my eating habits like that for over a year before i had surgery and i only lost about 5 pounds in the whole year. It is reallly hard to lose it without the surgery and can i say that i am really proud of you and hubby for going to do this while you are young and before children. You can teach them to eat right , from infancy on.
Have you started the surgery process yet? You all have a great mentor in your mom so hang in there.

Megan,
It is hard to lose weight!!! Most of us have tried and not been very successful but you are doing the "right" things and eating healthier is better than eating junk anyway. Your reward will be a healthy body, even if it's not thinner. I ate healthy and exercised for six months right before my surgery and only lost about eight pounds but I was in much better physical condition and it made my surgery go so much better. You are such a beautiful woman and such a sweetie. We all love you and your pretty Momma sooooooo much. Try not to be too discouraged and don't beat yourself up. You are doing your best. Hugs and love from Auntie Mame.

To my beautiful daughter:
Hi Meggie. Im so sorry you are feeling this way! A feeling that ALL of us on this board-and this site, for that matter, KNOW ALL TOO WELL!!~
YOU ARE doing ALL of the right things right now. When its your time of the month, most of us women, no matter what our age, gain water weight, and thus-expanding our gurth (LOL)....it WILL be okay and you WILL start losing. Give it another couple of weeks. Dont expect overnite changes, the weight didnt pop on overnite-so it wont go away over nite either! Always remember that!
We will get to MOBAR seminar and see where to go from there. Even if you decide NOT to do the surgery right now and try the weight loss on your own again-you HAVE to be 100 percent comfortable AND commited to this surgery before you proceed. It is NOT for everyone-it is NOT a quick fix-this is for the rest of your life. You have seen the effects-good and bad-in me. Although, I really have to say-IF I could go back and do it all over again-I would have loved to do it in my 20s and live those years like I am right now-I dont think I would have all the bone and joint issues I have now-if I hadnt been carrying around 3 peoples weight for 20 more years of my life, you know?
So, no matter what you and Aaron decide-you KNOW I AM BEHIND you, to support you, to give you both encouragement-and a swift kick in the rear when you need it. You DONT HAVE to go to the Y to get fit. We can walk the track (free) you can come to the house and use the gazelle, treadmill and excercise bike (free) and do it all with your mom (PRICELESS)...LOL... I love you kiddo-and between me and all of my wonderful friends on this site-We will help you in any way we can! Love, Mom
