New Realize Lap-Band
I also had Dr. Edwards and didn't have a choice. I don't even really know the brand of band I have! I didn't care, just wanted it done. I noticed in your other post that people at the office were telling you not to do the band but do bypass. As a bander, I don't know that I agree with that. I love my band. Yes, things are slower and it is easy to cheat it but after going through all that work to get the surgery, I sure don't want to cheat it now. I had mine on 7-25-8-07 and I am down 70.8 pounds. I realize most bypass patients would have lost that in the first month or two but it is still coming off. I also can eat things that bypass patients might not be able too. If you have questions about it, please ask. There are pros and cons to both procedures and you have to do the one YOU feel comfortable with.
I also know there are some that will tell you if you have so much weight to loose that you need to do the bypass not lap band. I don't believe that. I would LIKE to loose 200 total to take me down to 150. Is it going to take me longer, yup, but it can be done. Again, do what makes your comfortable. Jennifer
