Well today is my second day of my liquid diet.  I will be having surgery on 7 Mar 08.  I've been feeling sick all afternoon.  Don't know if it's from the Slim Fast or just not being able to eat.  I know I will get through this, but it seems like 12 more days is a lifetime.  No pain no gain, right?  Any suggestions on how to get through these next 12 days would be much appriciated.  Julie

as i like to tell everyone KEEP your eyes on the prize and the time will go by faster than you can imagine.  Keep busy doing things which will help the time go  by too.  Dr. H. didnt have us do the 2 week diet when i had surgery so dont have anything to compare with you. Good luck on surgery, and glad you came to the board.

Thanks for the words of encouragement.  It's funny you should say you think that the two weeks before are going to be the hardest part because I felt the same way.  I'm not worried about my surgery or after just right now.  I know that after my surgery I won't be hungry and it will be easier.  Your time will go fast believe me!  I found out my surgery was approved on the 26th of Dec and I thought the 7th of March would never get her, but here I am only 11 days away!  Good luck with your venture and I will watch for you online.  Julie

Well I can't help but I just want you to know you are not alone.  I have to do the shake diet with dr H in april and I think that is going to be the hardest part of the whole thing!  I hate those shakes!  But I too think the only way to get through is to keep your eye on the prize.  You have not come this far to give up now!  And I also tell myself that people do this everyday  and it won't kill me so "this too shall pass".  Thats all I got!  Good luck!  And maybe you can give me some advice when all is said and done!

The biggest thing that helped me was staying busy.  I was working so much the week before my surgery I didn't have time to think about food.  The worst day for me was Sunday - I was at home all day and bored.  Find anything you can do to stay busy and that will help!

Jan thanks for the words of wisdom.  I think today was the hardest so far.  I can't seem to get food out of my mind and I know it's just making things harder for me.  I keep telling myself "nothing tastes as good as being thin feels"  I will not cheat, but I sure feel like a drug addict right now.  I'm not a smoker, but I'm sure the withdrawals are about the same.  Thanks for caring.  Julie
