Well, I always said there is no way i will have this surgery and defeat it, so this post is in order.  I have had an emotional week, and was off fluid pill until yesterday so i puffed up, but the potassium is ok for now.   When it comes to eating, I try to eat protein but it makes my stomach hurt.  Eggs, turkey breast, tuna, tilapia, ALL of it hurts my stomach at the top and sometimes i will feel a spasm.  I have been eating a lot of cream soups this week, but they go right through you when diluted.     I really miss boca burgers *veggie or soy* and want to try them again, want to try beans, am looking for suggestions just afraid it will hurt.  AND, i dont know if it is pain from the pouch just doing its job or pain because my body is not ready for it yet.  My one month appt is tomorrow so i will get the medical part of it dealt with..   So what i am asking is this:::  What are the best things for me to eat to make the most of this surgery and my pouch..  example.  All Bran whole grain crackers..  they go down just as easily as saltines and give me no problems, but they are a processed food even if they are whole grain, so i am guessing even though my diet says crackers they are not the best food for me. Jello even hurts..it seems the denser the food the more pain, and as i said maybe it is supposed to be this way.    If some of you would please make a list of the best foods for us to have the most effective weight loss i would greatly appreciate it.  I HAVE to eat right so i can get this weight off and keep it off.  My fiancee is in my opinion trying to sabotage me somewhat.  Maybe i am seeing it wrong, but he wants to cook for me and then he makes potato soup and puts real bacon bits in it and whole fat cheddar and tons of salt when i am already swelling..  We weigh the same weight right now, and yes he is 4 inches taller and a man, but he seems happy for me, i still feel he is threatened or he wouldnt do this.  He talks about FOOD all the time, even when i ask him not to, you know  its hard to hear about it when you cant eat it..  Oh, what to do...  thanks for listening and helping.  cindy

Cindy if even Jello is hurting you need to be sure and tell your doctor that,  as far as food goes there is a lot of things that i still cant really eat like beef and a lot of meats so i get my protein from protein shakes. and after reading Tracies post i am uppinjg my protein shakes to 4 a day instead of 1 and see if that helps.  Yes some men feel like that when you get thin you will leave them so they sabotoge you. thank goodness my hubby isnt like that but i have heard from others that it happens. Sit down and have a heart to heart with him and if he doesnt agree or doesnt want to do so maybe you need to take a good long look at the relationship .  doesnt sound too supportive.  be sure and tell your doctor about the hurting part because you might have an ulcer or something going on there.

Jan,   thanks for the reply.. I just got home from my appt, it is such a long drive and the rain and fog slowed us down ;)   They said everything is ok, and I paid good money for the protein to feel like a rock in my stomach LOL..  It is supposed to feel that way...    Also, i hadnt eaten Jello in about a week and tried it on the way up, didnt hurt at all..    I completely agree with you on the man issue.. i will just have to deal with it.  If he is going to try to sabotage me then the relationship will never work, and IF that works out to be the case it is good that i found out before we married.   Blessings Cindy

Sweetie i hope that it isnt the case that your man is trying to sabotage you but just doesnt realize what he is doing. you know men are like that sometimes lol . But if you all talk about it maybe he can calm his attitude down enough that it at least is tolerable. lol. After awhile you will not even pay much attention to the talks of food and the tv ads for it and such , right now it seems everything is revolving around what you put into your mouth but eventually it will get to be old hat , not to say that you wont have issues , we all do but it wont be such an open thing. More like well this is my life and i will deal with it, i didnt have surgery to mess it up.  My protein doesnt feel like a rock in my stomach , only if i drink it down too fast but it does make me feel full that is for sure.  Good luck and keep coming to the boards.

thanks again Jan...  i hope that is not the case too, i will say that I have lost 60 lbs and it is definitely noticeable and he NEVER says a word about it or asks how much i am losing or anything.. There has to be a reason why he doesn't want to talk about it.  Oh yes, he weighs 330, so he definitely has a lot to lose too, which i would never tell him to do.   That is up to each individual..  but we have been having hard times anyway with all the kids :)  I just need this year or the next 6 months to devote time to myself for the first time in my life instead of always doing everything for everyone else and he is getting impatient fast..  Thanks again for listening.. cindy
