RNY and Endo

Hey, Has anyone dealt with having Endometreosis and having the gastric bypass RNY surgery. It is a condition that causes scarring. I was diagnosed a year and hald after I had my son in 1995. They found that I had an endometroma (large cysts like lump) that had grown in my C-section scar. They surgically removed it but I have had 2 laproscopic surgeries for laser of the Endo and am currently on Nuva ring birth control to keep me from having my monthly so as not to increase the scarring more. As with your monthly you shed the endometrial lining of your uterus. Currently the doctors have said that my right fallopian tube is adhered to the back of my uterus from the scarring of the Endo. So I am not new to the Laproscopic surgery if they do that for the RNY and I also have a C-section scar that they could go through if he has to do it openly. How do they do it? What makes the difference in the two?

most doctors are able to do the RNY laproscopicly unless there is just so much scaring that they cant see what they need to do.  I dont know what you are asking other than that. They dont have to go near the uterus i dont think but all of these questions would best be answered by your surgeon.  I would go ahead and do the seminar if i were you...then go from there. and yes most insurances now days have almost everyone do the 6 months diet and exercise. I think it is to see if you can stick with it but maybe that they think you will get tired of all of it and give up.  Im pretty sure they go by the weight you weighed when you first went to seminar or first surgery consult. you can ask your surgeon when you do the seminar. Dont give up the 6 monts isnt forever lot of people before you have fought for 2 to 3 years to have this surgery. It is worth it and as i like to tell everyone...Just Keep YOUR EYES on the PRIze... it will be there before you know it. keep busy getting everything in place and you will be surprised how fast that 6 months go.    Keep posting so we can keep encouraging you too. and you will be surprised at how much you can learn on here.
