A sad day

Today would be my mother's 78th birthday.  She passed away August 28th of last year.  I remember fussing about my weight, and had already had my pre-op with Dr. Hornbostel, but was afraid to tell her.  Anyway, she asked if I had looked into weight-loss surgery.  I told her about the pre-op meeting, and when she found out Dr. Hornbostel was doing the surgery, she was 110% supportive of it. After surgery she insisted I stay at her house for a day or two, to give my hubby a break!   I know she's in a better place, but damn I miss her! Happy Birthday Mom. Patty

I know it must be hard for you at this time.  Please take comfort in knowing that she is celebrating her little heart out up in heaven.  Happy Birthday to your mom. Kerri

Patty i dont guess it ever gets better really about missing our moms. I know i still miss mine everyday and she has been gone 5 years now. Her birthday, Mothers Day and any holidays i miss her but also just day to day talking on the phone like we did every day.  I will still want to know something and the thought will run thru my mind to call Mama and ask her and then i realize i cant.  Any of you that still have your moms around please enjoy them all you can because the day will come sometime that you wont have them around. And once it is gone it is gone.  I too know she is in a better place but like Patty, Damm i miss her.

My Prayers are with you Patty...my Grandma Emma passed away 4 days before your mom and her b-day was this month as well. It does hurt...we were sooooo close and I talked to her about issues I talked to no one else about. She and my cousin were the ones who came to sit with me the night of my RNY surgery. She was my #1 supporter. We can cherrish those special memories.....I sure do it often!!!   I'm glad you had your mom's support and I'm sure she couldn't have been more proud of you!!!
