Tricare and Plastics
Does ANYONE have a clue whether Tricare covers more the one plastic? Given what I've read from others here, I'm guessinga Shar Pei puppy ain't gonna have NOTHIN on me post weight loss. I know that Tricare does COVER plastics, but, how many and do they cover touch ups??? I know I'm gonna need my gut done cause I've got a pooch you can hide a small 3rd world country under, but, I'd really like to have my boobs lifted up off my knees and my arms to stop waving when 'm not. Calling tricare is about as fun as this pre-op diet, and I was wndering if anyone here has experience with them and multiple plastics approval.
Hello and how are you, I also have tricare and did not know that they covered plastic surgery. I hope they cover a tummy tuck, and boob lift. I hvae not even had surgery yet, I know I will need those things done when the weight is off. Why are you on a liquid diet? does doctor phillip Hornbostel doe this to every one? Would love to here from you. :)

Dr. Hornbostel does it to everyone. It's my first day on the liquids and other then being moderately homicidal from cravings I'm doing great...lol. Best wishes on getting a surgery date and if YOU have any questions for ME...since I'm going through it right now, feel free to ask.

I thought tricare said NO to plastic surgery all together after WLS, but I seem to be wrong. I found information on the Triwest website that states otherwise. Here's the link. It's kind of like reading greek, but it does give some good info!

Kerri, Dr. Hornbostel does require that all of his patients go on a slim fast diet for the two weeks leading up to surgery. It doesn't have to be all liquid. It can be liquid slim fast or bars... you can eat the bars and drink a lot of water and that's supposed to help. The goal is to reduce your caloric intake and shrink the liver to make surgery easier.
I did see your ticker! I knew you'd figure out how to do it. I talked to Margie on the phone today, and I asked her about the bars. She said that Dr. H usually says no, but she thinks it's better to do three shakes a day and two bars, if you have to... b/c that is the lesser of two evils if it's have a couple bars or cheat... then have a couple of bars, but no more than 2 a day... but it could be case by case too.
I like the ticker! I can't wait to be a ticker club member

happy.....
I don't know anything about Tricare or plastics but had to get a real chuckle out of the descriptions of your "predicaments"... i have so many of the very "same" and I'm pre-op! ~tee hee what hope does that give me?!?! too funny!
I always pray for those I know who are on the liquid diet and will for you too...
I couldn't help but notice the verse you have in your signature space and that is such an wonderful one to stand on now as you go thru this time... I will hold onto it with you!
hang in there,
