So I got some great advice from lots of people on OH here that was really helpful.  I stayed away from fire in the whole, the giant swing, and the one roller coaster that goes upside down.  There was a lady that was bigger then me that rode it, but i had a good 6 inches of height on her so when i tried the seat (the one right before you go into the ride) i almost made it but my boobs and then being 5'9 didnt help.  so that was out!!!!  I tried thought.  I am proud of myself!!!!  As for other rides DH and I did ride the swinging ship in the kiddie area, and the the coolest ride down in the kiddie area that is like a smile and then the whole seating area spins around.  Anyone know the name to that one?  We rode it 2 times and I laughed my butt off from joy and happiness the whole ride!!!!!!  We then attempted to ride thunderation.  I will admit when I saw the seats I was like NO WAY I AM TO BIG!!!!!  I had major support from DH and decieded to sit down and try it.  What did I have to loose?  The lines were nothing and we waited no more then 3 minutes max on the rides we road.  Well we rode thunderation 2 times, backwards first, then forwards.  It was such a freaking thrill.  knowing that a year ago I would have never even gone to SDC b/c of my size!!!!! Another shocker!!!!!  After MANY MANY MANY xanax I sucked it up and went INTO THE CAVE!!!!!!  Now those who know me know i am a freaking basket case. (This was a goal I had set for my self at the begining of the year to do before the end of summer)  This was to prove to myself I could do it.  My anxiety was the worst part of it all!!!!!  I fit just fine in allllllllll the spots and even kept up with some young 19 year olds.haha  Now granted stairs and I are not friends unless i am going down them!haha  But going up them was not hard.  I was super hot due to the humitity down in the cave.  My clothes felt like they were hugging on to me for dear life!!!!   BUT I DID IT EVERYONE!!!!!!! Anyone with younger kids around 3-5 should so meet us there so we can have a kid day!!!!!   Thanks for letting me share.  I was so stoked to beable to post this when we got home!!!! Britt

Britt, you are such an encouragement to me this evening!  I'm on my 6th day of liquid diet, (21 more to go) and at the phase "why am I doing this to myself!'.....So you post was just a God-send to me.

I am soooo proud for you.  And lets not forget your DH too, it must have been as awesome day for him to have someone to ride the rides with!

Thanks for your post- it was prefect timing for me....

Hey Brenda, why do you have to go 24 days on liquids???

The liquid diet is getting harder! Last night I drained some chicken and rice soup and drank the broth...oh man it was sooo good- I slept like a baby with something hot in my belly.

I am self-imposing the extra 2 weeks of a liquid diet. It's a long medical story...too long to type out... To try and make it simple..... I have a problem with my lymphatic system. The extra liquid diet days will just help me to lower the manufacture of lymph fluid in my body down to a healthy bare minimum. Everytime a person eats, we manufacture lymph fluid (called chyle). My body makes too much of it. So the liquid diet for a month should really help me with less post surgery complications. All this goes with the rare disease called LAM that I have. Also, I need to get my blood sugars under better control, they have been high (250-300's) for the past year. Going into surgery with lower numbers will really benefit my healing. Plus try and loose at least 10 pounds... I need to start exercising. I just hate exercising.... Always have.

I chewed a B complex pill yesterday that was chewable. Oh man- I'll never do that again! I've got to go get some liquid or something. I thought my teeth were going to curl backwards!

I'm glad my stomach has calmed down...that was tough for a bout a week. I finally figured out it was taking all the medicines together, now I spilt them up to get them all in. Plus, I take the diabetes meds. with a protein bar.

Thanks for asking about me, living with LAM is not easy. Only women get this lung disease. It first presents as shortness of breath or that ‘panic attack’ feeling. There are less that 1,500 women in the WORLD with this, but they think there are thousands more because it is easy to mis-diagnose it as asthma or COPD or chronic bronchitis and other common lung diseases. LAM can’t be seen on x-rays, but a high resolution CT will show it. I not only have LAM cells in my chest, but the cells have also damaged my lymphatic system. . There is no treatment, and no cure. LAM often leads to lung transplant. All this to say, it is good for me to get my weight down to a healthy number for a host of reasons. LAM stands for Lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Can you pronounce that? Ha!
www.thelamfoundation.org (thousands of TSC women have mild LAM, but I don’t have TSC, I have the rare sporatic form of LAM)

Didn't mean to talk your ear off this morning! Brenda

How exciting!!! I am so glad you enjoyed yourself so much, you can see the excitement in your post. How neat to be able to meet one of your goals. One of mine is to be able to go horseback riding. Once .....just once it seems so fun and I've never been able to do it. It's a long ways away but I keep it in my mind. great job!! Charlene

Tell you what Charene, when you feel like you are ready, I will go with you!!! I haven't been able to get on a horse (for fear of breaking the poor things back) for about 100lbs or 7 years..take your pick, lol. Horses are great animals and I know a great little trail ride place south of Springfield that I have been DYING to try! Amy

Britt I am SO glad you had such fun!!! My family LOVES SDC...and even as big as I am right now, I love the cave...just hate the humidity. We are season pass holders with 2 & 4 year old boys, so we go there A LOT! I can't believe you did thunderation...maybe once I am post-op I'll be able to do that too :) (8 days and counting til knife day)

It would be great it if we could get some folks with kids together to have a kid's day. Being season pass holders, I have a couple of passes (3 I think) to get people in for $10 during the kid's Fest. Best time to go is mid-week when it first opens. We are like SO local and have learned the best days to avoid tourists lol. If you would like to get together and do this, just let me know.My surgery is the 15th, so, I am looking forward to being post-op and being on "semi-normal" foods by the time Kid's Fest rolls around.  Again congrats on a great time!!! Amy
