HELP I'M HUNGRY!!!!

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge. Ps 18:2
OH yOU!! the exact same thing happened to me the first couple of day's out!! DO NOT NOT DO IT NOT EVEN ONE BITE that is crucial , you could ruin your pouch, you are still healing. Eat a few bites of sugar free jello, or an ounce of apple/grape juice. I am going to tell you. it is only HEAD HUNGRY, your nose smells the good food and tells your brain you want it. After my first pre-op appt I thought I was so hungry, I ate some kfc taters and the next day had cottage cheese (my new tummy- intestines DID NOT like the cottage cheese) gave me horrible gas pains. yesterday and today I have only been having liquid protein drinks by choice, I am not even hungry at all. Just hang in there you can fight the head hungries with jello and juice. Take care dear, susan

You bury yourself in OH all you want girl...better than burying yourself in something you shouldn't have. Are you literally drinking fluid every 15 min?? that is very important...1: because otherwise you wont' get enough fluid in and 2: it tricks your tummy into thinking it is full. This will pass. If it is head hunger like we all have then you have some re-programming to do...none of us would be here if we didn't suffer from that....keep posting and keep trying....it WILL get better....I promise!!!
Head hunger STINKS!!!! Literally you know...I am drinking every fifteen minutes but for some reaon last night with the sauce and this morning with the toast it is SO HARD. I know it's head hunger, cause when I stop and ask "am I hungry?" the resounding answer is ummm NO. The problem is I smell this food and WHAM my brain remembers how good it was and WHAM I'm miserable. My question is this...will this be easier to handle once I am on a normal diet and can actually take a bite of what I'm smelling? I'm clinging to that hope like a drowning man to driftwood. Physical hunger is so much easier to handle then head hunger. I can always tell my stomach to shut up, but, my head has a rebellious streak lol. Oh well, time for my breakfast broth. At least I know it's good for me, cause I made it and i'm a dang good cook lol. Wouldn't have needed this surgery if I wasn't LOL. Thanks everyone so much for your help and letting me vent.

The fact that you can stop and ask yourself if you are truly hungry and answer yourself honestly is a HUGE step in the right direction!!!! YAY for you!!!
I was doing the nectar protein shakes the first week so I had some calories going in and my body wasn't quite as rebellious. I really did look forward to my first "meal" though. I had cottage cheese and it was the BEST cottage cheese I had ever tasted. Once I got to put something in my pie hole and chew it ...smooth sailing from there. It really will get better and easier....soon you will be reminding yourself that you NEED to eat....a friend of mine put it best...you change from "living to eat to eating to live". You're doing great. You're almost through the hardest part. LOL...the other day I made steak for my family...of course we can't have any beef for 6 months which made me want it even more. I guess my husband could see the look on my face...or maybe it was the continuous stream of drool coming from my mouth...but he cut a piece off for me and i put it on the end of a fork and licked it like a lolly pop. Now how's that for desperate
? Go ahead and laugh....I still do. I hope you have a great day today...keep busy.....

You LICKED it???? Oh my GOSH LOL!!!! You have far greater restraint then I would have shown. Steak is like the Hebrew's manna from Heaven for me. Just the THOUGHT of a thick juicy cut of rib eye makes me weep right now. Why do I somehow hear "I Will Survive" floating through my head right now??? I won't lie. I have my first "meal" planned to a T. It's going to be homemade mashed taters and if I can handle that I will have a scrambled egg later. I will love that egg. I will hold it, and hug it, and squeeze it and I will call it George and then I will eat it allll gone lol. Can you tell this liquid diet is starting to get to me? The whole fam went fishing today at Bennett Springs but we had to pack it in at 5 on account of the fact that I couldn't take the smells wafting downwind from the restaurant. I probably looked like one of those silly trout right before the horn blows to open the season. Anyways, I'm going to go eat another sf popsicle and try not to think what the rest of my precious ones got to have...4 more days, 4 more days, I can make it just 4 more days!!!

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY

Cravings get better with time --- You are adjusting to a new life. Give it time...(IM taking months and years). And stay off the sauce (LOL)---- there is a lot of acidity (spelling ?) --- your stomache is healing right now and you could hurt yourself. Trust in the surgery and yourself --- Take care.
