Does anyone have any experience in getting surgery paid for by United Healthcare on a Boeing plan. All I can find out is that it is "excluded" What are the options here?

HI - I got my surgery approved through Boeing UHC.  However, here is the deal.  You have to switch during open enrollment to the UHC Choice Plus - it is a CCP, I believe.  It has a deductible each paycheck - I pay $50 a paycheck for myself, husband, and daughter.  So for a year (I plan on switching back in November), it isn't too bad.  Do you work or at Boeing or is it your spouse?  If it is you, what bldg are you in?  I'm in 270.  Let me know if you have any questions.  I'm a new post op (3 months today.) And just to let you know, my paperwork was submitted on January 4 and I was approved by the 7th with a surgery date of January 21! Renee

Renee, I work at Boeing, in Bldg. 101. Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if I should try to pursue this with the plan I have now or not. I don't want to give them the chance to deny as a pre-existing condition. Did you try before you switched plans? How was your experience with Dr. Wagner? He would be my first choice.
