It's finally my turn....YAY!!! Needing some protein shake advice.
Well I cannot believe my ears but it's true...
I was promoted to a Management position with AT&T recently, and just found out that my new insurance for Manager's cover's Bariatric surgery.
WOW!! It has been a dream for soooo long now there is no more waiting, well except to get my doctor appt's done. My first appt with Dr. Gorospe is June 27th and his nurse said the type of insurance I have now through United is very quick on approvals, so I could be having surgery as soon as August.
I am working on getting my pictures and weight tracker posted and I just wanted to thank you for answering all my prior questions when I thought I was going to have to fight an exclusion on my last policy.
I have already started planning a trip to Disney World with my son, I will actually be able to walk around and ride the rides with him...I couldn't ask for more, than just to feel better.
I am a little nervous with the liquid diet right before surgery, and would appreciate any suggestions for protein shakes. I have a hard time with any thing really thick. :) I look so forward to the journey I have ahead of me...the journey to wellness!

CONGRATS!~ Your on your way for the ride of your life, thats what this journey is. Ok-I use ON (Optimum Nutrition) 100% Instantized Whey Gold Standard, and I purchase it at Food 4 Less on 32nd street in Joplin. It is 1/2 the price as it is a GNC or Suzannes Health. My favorite are the strawberry and the Chocolate. You can either get the 2# or 5# tub. When I first went and got it-I bought Soy-so make sure and write down and match exactly what I said-LOL....Its not too thick-and I used 2% milk instead of skim. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Maybe you would be interested in going to the support group in Springfield sometime-and we can get you some samples then to try of different proteins. Good luck! Janet
