If I had a Hernia would I know it?

Hello all,    I am just wondering if I had a hernia would I know it? I am having my scope in July and would find out then. But, I just thought about it.

Lori, It would depend on where your hernia is and how bad it was...From the way my doctor talked about mine I probably had it longer than I knew I had it....They will be able to tell you when you have your surgery if you have one or not...Because they will advise you on when and if you need to get it taken care of.... i had a hernia and didnt even know it they found it during the scope and put me on medicine then when i had surgery they fixed it

Thanks you guys!! Thats kind of what I figured... I would find out when I have the scope done :) . Just curious.

They found my hernia when they did the surgery,(he repaired it "while he was there" lol) they didn't see it with the scope, I'm not sure how they would since the scope is checking you out from the throat on down to in your tummy....maybe it would depend where it is???? I think they would find an ulcer that way  just not sure about  the hernia.
