Hello all. Today I called Amy at Columbia Missouri hospital and I have a date on July 14 with Dr. De la Torre. Wish me a lot of luck. I am worried about waking up from it. My mother and I both have a horrible time coming out  of anastedic's. ( Can't spell )  Other than that I don't think I am worried too much.  This is amazing.  I know most people return to work after about two weeks but do you think as long as you have a sit down job  you could return after one? I recently got evicted because I had dental work that put me out of work for two weeks and in the ER and the apt. people wouldn't work with me. I can't afford that again. Even half days would be fine with me. I am a single person so I don't have anyone to fall back on. Anyway, I am in shock it will be so soon. Good night.

Thanks for writing back. I had to keep going for six years because I no longer have medicine that is strong enough for my bllod pressure. We can't get it to go down from 220 /120. I also have reflux so bad because my food goes into my lungs. I also weigh 300 LB's and no diets are working either.  So as you can see I had to keep fighting.

Hey,
I'm excited for you and will be praying for all situations.
I think if you have lapariscopic surgery you probably could go back 1/2 days after one week off but talk to your Dr for sure. I came back after two weeks to my secretarial job and felt wiped out by 3PM but that went away quickly. The main thing to remember is vitamins, water and walk.
Hugs and best of luck.

De la Torre did my surgery a year ago today! Great surgeon. Beware the hospital room may be very small. Mine was. Best of Luck!!

All I need is a window, bed and a potty and I am happy. Thanks to everyone for replying.

I had my parents and husband with me and my husband had to lay in the bed with me, mind you I barley fit in the bed. I did have a ICU bed my first night, though I wasn't in ICU and it was bigger. It took up the whole room though, lol. Dad had to sit in the hall way and mom got the one chair that was in front of the sink. Nurses where great!
