Lori, and other pre-ops!

Lori, I know you are going to Dr. H also, so wanted to let you know. Walgreens has Boost glucose control on sale right now, buy one, get another 1/2 off. They also carry the slim fast high protein, that I have had  a horrible time finding. I had them order me some as they only had 2 boxes of the pre-mixed.

Does the high protein slim fast come in poweder? I think that would be cheaper but I can't seem to find any. Anyway, the boost is a smaller amount than the slim fast, but I went ahead and got some of it, thinking it might give me a different taste during the 2 weeks pre-op.

Anyway, just wanted to share. Seems like at this point, any money we can save the  better!

Thank- You Liz and Sheila!!! I found at Big Lots yesterday a case of 30 for $15.00!!! I am going to figure out which ones I like and then go and buy them!!! There werent a whole lot left about 8 cases ( or creates ) but whatever they have I will take. I have some that were already given me earlier this week. I appreciate it. I will also go to Walgreens and get some boost. I am wondering if I am not getting all the protein in a day by the shakes am I supposed to drink more OR NO more then 5!!! I am a little confused about this. Yes, this is a little expensive liquid diet. A 6 pk is 6.98 @ walmart of the high protein. and I am going to need 70. But, I am going to try to buy all I can this week. So, I dont have to worry about if I have enough? Thanks again!!! ((HUGZ))

Liz,

I used the slim fast high protein in the powder even though I was diabetic it was ok for me.  I didn't like the pre-made stuff in the cans left a metal taste which I didn't like to me the powder was the best.  I found it at my local grocery store as well as Wal-mart.  It's cheaper too and it taste better then the can stuff.  I tried the boost too and I didn't care for that just liked the slim fast powder mix.

I'm a Dr. H patient and I had my surgery almost two months ago.  I didn't use the high protein slim fast, I used the Slim Fast Optima.  I asked him personally if it was ok to use that and he said yes.  You may want to give them a call and ask if you HAVE to use the high protein or if you can use the optima.  The optima is quite a *****eaper, comes in several different flavors and is easier to find.

Best wishes!

Christine
