What Happening Saturday for Jan
But since it is so late in the day and I don't see where Janet has been able too... I am going to open up Jans thread for all to post and will try it again.
Blessings to every one today if I can't get more posted!
Until a bit later hopefully,

Now it's Good Afternoon Missouri! ~tee hee
Went out this morning and picked a half a bucket of tomatoes, more zucchini, yellow squash and peppers. Boy they are all in abundance! Am going to grind up some zucchini and put it in the freezer now for breads, cakes, and baked goods. Don't really know how much baking I will be doing this next year but will give it to my sis, if I find out I am not using it... I would like to make a couple more batches of zucchini relish yet. I'm waiting on peppers from my plants right now...
I have the neatest blessing to share today!

I told a friend this morning that I feel like I have been in the "valley" these past two years and the Lord is bringing me to set on "high places" of late! I have just had one blessing after the other!

It was good to see you post yesterday my

Janet ~ I know you said you were going to work this weekend and since I did not see where you had posted I thought I would do it again... but you go ahead... you are a much better writer than I.
Paul's brother lives in Joplin but we do not visit them much... only a couple of times ever really.
It would be so great to meet in K.C. if it would work out... when do you have appointments up there? Mine are August 5th and 13th, Sept. 5th and 10th before surgery on the 22nd. I might have more but I'm not sure at this time till I see the cardio and pulmanologist...
I picked size 12 because that seems like a good reasonable size to be and I thought I could take up whatever I got in the case I was to get smaller! I can't even imagine! Oh to be in the single digits! my mind just won't go there seems.
How very neat about you making your grandbaby an afghan or quilt! My mom made me a white "broom stick" afghan with a shiney thread running thru it to have my girls dedicated with... it was so special... I have saved it for them to use with their babies if they want to. And the picture you talked of for Megan will be wonderful too!
Barbara S. ~ Thank you for the kind words but I sure feel others of you are far more qualified to do this post as you have "been there done that" and I'm just a newbie so to speak... although I have been "newbie~ing" for the past 2 YEARS! ~ha
Renee' ~ You were on my mind all day yesterday as I prayed you would be able to make it thru the day without even one cig! Did you make it? I know, like Bev B. YOU CAN DO THIS THING!!!! I know you can! I have been praying for the past few weeks and will continue to till you say things are better!
Debbie D. ~ your words of encouragement and those of others to Janet about John's speech problems... I know she appreciates so much... I think it is wonderful that what one of us is going thru someone else has already been there and can have such compassion! It's the Lord's plan to use us to minister to one another and in this our suffering is never for naught! Isn't that just great!
Andrew ~ Hope the relish turns out, it is a simple recipe, a bit messy but worth the effort.
I bet you did miss Mimi this morning, I'm so glad you have one another to keep each going! I wish I had a walking partner. I'm way out here all by myself, I am hoping that when I get to where I'm able, Paul will come with me, I'm not holding my breath though. ~ha
Sheila ~ It was so good to see you post! We were getting worried about you lady! I'm glad you were able to get one of your cars fixed. It sound like you have had a real time of it! I'm so sorry for that.
You are going to have quite a winter store with all the canning you have been doing. I posted a Splenda "Zucchini Relish Recipe" a few days ago. Check it out... you could use cukes in place of the zucchini if you wanted to.... Jan, Sugar and Andrew seemed to like it, so maybe you will too. Look back a few posts and you will see it.
Well... my dear Missouri Friends I hope I will actually get this posted. Each of you have a wonderul day! What is left of it. ~ha

Don't sell yourself short. You are doing a wonderful job. I know Jan will be pleased. You need no experience with WLS to do these post, it only takes the experience when anyone needs it and that is what this board is all about.
We went to Clinton today to the hubby's brothers for a Fish Fry. Great food, everyone brings there best. I took fresh cucumbers and onions in vinegar. We have had a load of cukes this summer and tomatoes are really coming on right now. My BIL catches fish all year and has a big Fish Fry on the first saturday in August. My hubby has 7 sisters and two brothers so lots of family. Great nieces and nephews everywhere.
I'm going to try to meet up with you and Debbie on Tuesday. I emailed Debbie to find our where and when but have not heard back. She must be busy.
Jan, can't wait to hear about your trip and see pictures. Have a safe trip home.
Everyone else, you are always in my prayers and heart.

Bec - you are doing a great job!!!
Went to the farmers market this am looking for green peppers - I refuse to pay 75 cents to a dollar for a green pepper. One stall had some nice looking ones and she wanted the 75 cents each and I turned and told my Aunt forget the peppers I am not paying that and lets go to Aldi's. The lady then asked if I would pay 50 cents each and I said "gimme $5 worth. This time last year I had 3 gallon bags of chopped peppers in the freezer already - this year we have only gotten 3 out of a whole row... I did pay $4 a dozen for sweet corn. I just find it discouraging that some venders bring in produce from wholesalers and try to pass it off as home grown. Thats my big gripe of the day .
The garden is almost done for the season - the zucchini plants and yellow squash are dying. The tomatos look terrible and out of all that cabbage I have 4 heads that can be used. On the positive side the beets are doing well as are the onions and the carrots. We dusted the late beans and Dad's turnips are coming up nicely. I worked outside for a bit today and got several skeeter bites - out comes the anti-itch gel!
Did get the recliners swapped out in the great room and they must be comfortable as when I last looked both sis and Dad were asleep in them.
Found an interesting article about magnesium taken 45 minutes before bedtime to help you sleep better. So instead of taking it in the am with my others pills so I started taking it at night. Will let you all know how it works.
Jan - have fun and have a safe trip home.
Daniel called and wants me to come down over Labor Day - he even said he would give me gas money if I would come down. So I tentavely said yes as I am not sure if we will have house guests or not that weekend. I would love to see you all at the get-together.
Also if Stephanie comes home before going to Japan in the middle of September we will be making the trip to Springfield so she can see her brother. I love having my family together especially with all 3 grandkids. Shana is age 7 and Ethan is 4, Stephanie's son Jamie is 3 & 1/2. Ethan called me to tell me all about their trip to worlds of fun and the roller coaster ride he had and since I was skinny now could i ride with him - That was a WOW moment for me.
I have decided to stop trying to find clothed to fit right now and will see how things are after my hernia surgery in September. I am currently wearing a size 14 and they are a bit to big but to be comfortable around my tummy I am staying in that size. Got out the sewing machine and made a few seams to make my undergarments fit. Went thru all my bras and have a whole clothes basket full and will take them up to the outreach mission. I have given away so many things with no regrets. I am going to take jeans and a couple of suits up to the re-sale shop as they sold my uniforms and scrubs.
Got some nice emails congratulating me on having my 1 year surgeryversary.
Since its now officially Sunday morning - you all have a great day!
