anyone on united healthcare insurance

after many years my husband finelly got a job with an insurance carrier that will pay for gastric bypass. I am just wondering how long it takes to get them to approve the bypass. I have went to my meeting last week and go see my pcp on monday for her letter and see said she will file  the approval for me with uhc to help get the ball rolling and would do all my follow up care. I was also told she would help me scedule all my pre op visits that have to be done. I called the insurance comapany and they said i had to have a bmi over 40, over the age 21 and have been heavy for more than 5 years. I meet all this and was hopeing to get a somewhat time line of how long it would take them to approve the surg. i am really hopeing to be able to have the bypass the last week od dec,

I have BCBS.  It seems its not so much the insurance taking a long time it takes a long time to get all the pre stuff done.  Check out my profile and I wrote out a time line from start to surgery date and what tests and things were needed.  Hopefully this will help give you some idea.  LR
