WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY
Good Evening Mama Jan & MO Peeps:
Well, David did go back to work Friday only to be LAID off by Friday afternoon! Yes, that is right. The company eliminated both of the buyer positions (they laid off David and the other buyer). The owners will now be doing all the buying for the company. This is David's 3 lay off within the past year and a half. We spent about two hours on line this afternoon applying for various jobs. Please PRAY for us and our family. I know without a doubt that God will take care of us. He always has. We are asking His guidance and for His provision. David is still having troubles with his bronchitis. If he's not better by tomorrow morning, I'm going to call the doctor and see if he needs to see him again. We have insurance until the end of the month. Then I'm sure we'll be paying a huge premium. Last time it was almost $700 a month under COBRA. I believe we need to keep the coverage if at all possible. I am going to check out some "short term" policies and see how much they would cost per month. Just don't want to go around without health insurance when we have two children.
Please keep David in your prayers. For those of you who don't know, David was with the same company for over 18 years. They let him go in 5/07. He immediately got another job. Then they laid him off after 14 weeks. Both of these jobs were in the lumber industry. Then he worked for another lumber company for 2 months. The benefits were HORRIBLE and that's why he took the job with his last employer. Now his job's been eliminated. He HATED this last job, but it was a job and provided the income and insurance we needed. I just want him to find a stable employer who has good benefits and where they will appreciate the hard worker he is.
Since David lost his job, he's worried that the tile place won't let us order from them. They usually only do business with companies. He's going to call the owner tomorrow and see what he says. If he will let us, we're going to order the tile from them. Hopefully, it will come in by Friday and Josh (my stepson) will put my back splash in this coming weekend. The painting, if it gets done, we will be doing. It can wait if need be. I must say, I am really glad I went ahead and got my granite counter tops in before they laid him off! Like I said before, we got a really good price. Plus I got new appliances which I LOVE!
I'm subbing two days this week. It's for Title 1 Reading so it shouldn't be difficult. I subbed one day last week for a 4th grade class. Worst day I've had in a long time! I don't think I'll be subbing for that class for the rest of the year...at least I don't want too! lol!
Mama Jan - You and Joe did exactly what I want my dh and I to do while he's off. Of course, he wants to go out bow hunting. He's gonna have to get over this bronchitis stuff before he can do much of anything.
Janet - You had better take Sugar up on her offer! We all want to see you on the 19th!! I'm still planning on being there and you need to be there too!
Sugar - Thank you for offering to take Janet to the doctor's appointment on the 19th so she can be there with us. I can't wait to see all of you!
Bec - Glad you had such a great time with your Sis. Yes, of course, I'll bring my camera on the 19th. Would love to take pics of that beautiful table cloth! I also plan on taking lots of pictures of all these beautiful ladies!
Sherr - I had an internal hernia repaired back in January. The pain was horrible! Hon, I hope they get that taken care of soon. You will feel so much better!
Peggy - Glad to see your smiling face back on the board! We have missed you! Can't wait to meet you in person on the 19th!
MO Peeps - Hope all of you had a great weekend and have a wonderful week!
Remember: GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME. ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!
