Hi guys!

I've been struggling a bit the last few days, just feeling pretty down on myself, and the demons in my head are overpowering me. I still havne't lost any weight, and I THINK I'm doing everything right. Protein - check, water- check, exercise- check!

I really am a bit stir-creazy but I have some things up my sleeve for that.

I'm really looking to attend some other support groups in the area, my surgeon's office only meets once a month, so I decided to take matters into my own hands.

For those of you near Overland Park, or willing to drive, I've started a "meetup"

it's a nifty little website where local ppl with similar interests can connect, noone has ever started a wls meetup in the area, so I did it myself!

I'm inviting you all to come, I'd also like feedback about anything relly!

I appreciate your input.

thanks so much!

Hi Shelley ,

Don't get discourged it will all drop off one day you are probally holding water did you do lasic or some kind water pill before surgery if so maybe you need to ask Doc about taking them now if you are not. But Susie on here (Hazmat)  she done that also held water and she was getting upset but she lost it so it will be ok ( HONEY )

 1.  Are you getting in your protein ? Got to have it.

 2.  Are you sipping water , water , water ? Got to be.

Love to Ya

dont get discouraged and keep coming to our meetup we are just all people from in Missouri and a few from in your area too

you are probably just having an early stall since you lost 48 pounds before surgery. and your body is holding on to everything in case there is a big bad winter coming on  change the exercise  stuff around....add something that you havent been doing , drop something you have been doing and rotate around sometimes that fools your body . how much protein drinks are you getting in? and how much water?

most new post ops arent drinking enough protein as they need .

I'm averaging 80-100g protein, and 72oz + water.

I was just doing walking, and pretty slow, I revved it up a bit last night, tho, went faster and did the elliptical too, so hopefully that helps.

I've been tracking my food on the dailyplate the last 3 days, and have netted 400-800cal/day.

My ratios for my intake have been about 45% protein/25% fat/ 30%carbs

I suppose some is probably water but I dont feel puffy at all, never took a water pill before, I used to have 3+ PITTING edema DAILY in my ankles and feet, but my ankles and feet are soooo small, and my shins are sticking out! haha

I'm also discovering wrist bones!

I know I know, I just need to be patient, I figure my body is in shock at the moment and not sure which way is hope, tho physically I feel fine. I keep waiting for the crash, but it hasn't happened. I'm sleeping about 8hours a night, and doing stuff throughout the day.

Shelley, please dont feel like you are going to fail  you are doing great especially if at this stage you are getting in all that protein and water and vits and exercise too,.  great going . you say you havent   lost any since surgery but look almost 50 pounds before surgery..your body is resting and probably losing inches...hang on it will be alright...you are not the one that this surgery will fail on. just keep on keeping on the stall will be over soon and you will start zooming down and down...hang on ...
