WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY
I just heard from Andy and Susan and the power is out at our house...glad im down here,. They told me they were going over to the trailer...a tree limb fell across the power lines one in front of my house and one at a neighbors. ..this was about 3 pm...im just so glad that we went and bought a new tank of gas for the trailer the other day...before we left.
Well good news Andy just called back about 5 I think and said the elect was back on that the elect company had been down there and had to cut off 5 trees that fell across the power lines. ...that was quick ...sure glad , for Susan and Andy , for my flowers, for my home and for everyone else down there...
Sounds like it is really really bad at home...how is it in
Was a little cool here today also , nothing like there but not as nice as it has been ....got up to 60 but was windy...we worked out in the iyard again , helping Teresa get thing fixed up a little....
SUSAN:::: LOL that is about like something that would happen to me , let you go somewhere not at your best and look who you see or what happens but a tv camera in your face lol .
Glad that the elect came back on for you all. I know you could keep warm in the trailer but that wouldn’t solve the problem of a lot of other things like running water etc...lol
Thanks to you and Andy for takeing care of my plants and everything. Really do appreciate it ...will try to repay you all some day...
Again THANKS.
SUSIE:::::: so sorry that you keep getting sick on eating port rinds lol silly girl as most people would say just quit.....yeah it isn’t always easy is it...
Isn’t that something 8 babies wow, can you imagine?? Lord have mercy that would just be way too much.. and I heard today that the doctors didn’t know there were 8 they thought 7 didn’t know about the last one lol...so even with all of todays modern miracles things still can surprise them.
Susie anything north of here is out....it is really cold up at the grand canyon...will wait until we come back in the summer to go there. And white sands
PEGGY:::::::::so it didn’t get as bad in the north? Wow that is weird. Well I bet you did do some cleaning , i bet you couldn’t help it lol
What sort of jewelry do you make. Sounds like fun ...i think I need a hobby for the winter time but then I couldn’t run off to the south or on cruises. Lol maybe you need to make a little more manly one for your hubby....lol you should be here in Tucson this week end is the yearly gem show.....they say it is the biggest show there is...wow. im afraid to go will want to buy something lol.
POOH BEAR::::::hey on the parrot, im sure it would be good protein at lest as much as chicken....maybe you could fry it southern style....have him for Sunday dinner....lol
Am waiting to hear if the bird got the bird.
BEV::::::I am so very glad to see you back online. You will have to tell us all about your time away from us. I am so glad that you got some help , I was really really worried about you there for awhile...
I love you menue for today, im going to copy that and see how I do...how many calories is that total per day. although that stuff mixed with yogurt and cherrios etc. doesn’t sound too good but will try it...,,,
You ask where we are , we are right now in
He said he thought he would get tired of it ....dont know how anyone could get tired of such beautiful mountains , they surround this town and they are everywhere.
You come out of a store and bam there they are. They look almost surreal.
So are you still working at the same place?
DEBBIE D::::::so sorry that hubby has gotten a job yet. Something will come along soon.
We aren’t in texas but AZ.. did you read about the javalinas....they are an interesting..

Does that about cover most of us?
Just thought I would jump in here this morning before I do my reading and say hi...
Nothing going on around here that is worthy of much attention...
Will have to workout on the Gazelle again today as it's too slick and cold to go out... think I will get it done right away this morning... Yesterday it took me about the time of a movie to go 10,000 steps... guess I'll put another one in for today as well.
Am going to crack black walnuts with my sis tomorrow... I have lots and lots of those to do...they are not near as easy as the pecans...
Today I have many small chores that need to be done...will play catch up on some things I guess...
I'm sure feeling for those folks that got hammered with the ice... I heard on the news just a minute ago that in places it is worse than the one last year... wow that's incredible as I seen the devastation of that and it was simply an awesome sight to see... I pray all is well with each.
Andy and Susan ~ I'm sure glad your elec came back on quickly and that Mimi your plants didn't die!
Debbie D. ~ Was good to see you post. I'm still praying about David's job and your friends Gary and Anita.
{{{Pooh}}} I sure hope you are feeling better and adjusting to Laura not being there every day. I'm also praying that just what he needs will happen at Gail's upcoming appts. Nikki is in my thoughts and prayers as well.
Wonder if Janet has heard the results of her tests yet? I sure hope they can get her to a better place.
Jen ~ So happy to see you made onelander! That's truly exciting!
Sugar Baby ~ Don't work too hard on that room... my daughter likes the theme you are doing... Lot's and lot's of accessories in the flea markets maybe?
Renee ~ How ya's be?
Bev Burns ~ So glad to see you back on the boards you sound so good. I'm so glad you got the help you needed and your menu seemed so doable yesterday.... I'm working on making up a two week set of menus so I can be prepared and know exactly what I'm going to do. I seem to do so much better under very structured routine.
Susie ~ hope you can see some beautiful snow when the it gets light out.
Peggy ~ another good day to stay in if you can... would love to see your jewelry!
A blessed filled day to each one today.
Bec
I am sorry for the people who got ice and have lost power. I hope they can stay warm.
I did not eat any pork rinds last night. I stayed strong. I have some in the house but I will never eat out of the bag again. I will measure out each one . I did learn that lesson.
Looks like DH is home again today. I will have to find something to keep me busy.Like Peggy I need to make some necklaces. I bought a lot of beads after Christmas.Peggy you should post some pictures of your necklaces. Don't get me wrong I enjoy having him here but he has a problem being cooped up and doing nothing. If he isn't sleeping he has to be doing something. I wonder if I am too old to sled down the hill. I guess I am getting some of Becs sass .
I bought a pair of jeans at walmart Monday that were size 16 P. They are very comfortable and maybe a tad to big. What a surprise. I didn't expect that. I have bought quite a few things that will fit after I lose 20 more pounds. I hope I am not being too optimistic. I would like to be a size 6. That's my goal at least.
Karen I hope the roads are good in the morning. The farther north the better the roads are I think.I hope you don't have to reschedule. I am praying for you.
Everyone stay warm and enjoy the beauty of it all today.
Today is my Jons 6th Birthday!!! wooo hooo-Happy Birthday Little Man. Too bad we are iced/snowed in-but you bet we will do something fun for the little guy today! We had already decided to postpone his Chuck E. Cheese party until the weekend-so tonite we wont be worrying about everyone being on the road.
When the freezing rain started on Monday-it was INSTANT slick-Mikes boss sent him home at 230 and school let out at 220. IT barely started at 2-but it was that QUICK that pretty soon you were sliding...craziest thing you ever saw! Within a little over a 2 hour period-they were saying there were over 200 calls to 911 here and that over 230 accidents had been reported! Isnt that just nuts?
Yesterday, all morning it was freexing rain and sleet on and off-then about 1 pm, the freezing rain started again-and stayed till about 6 pm-and turned to snow-and it snowed for a couple of hours-real thick, heavy snow-and it was like white out conditions for several hours. We got AT LEAST 6 inches-if not a little more! No school again today, but Mikes boss didnt realize how bad the roads were, so he took off early to make it to work and as of 9 no else was there yet.
Got a little upset yesterday, Mikes friend that called away to work last time it got cold and we took over a load of our wood for his wife-well, she text me last night and said she was almost out of wood again! I told her that there were 3 problems with that this time-1st, the wood we have covered and dry on our porch, is just enough for us-and if WE lose power-its our ONLY source of heat, 2nd-the stuff that we have out in the woods-where some of the wood piles are- they are really wet-because they are covered with ice-so she wont be able to burn it....THEN...where they live-there is NO WAY We are driving the Suburban, they have too many hills, no gaurd rails, its hard enough to get to when the roads are good-so I told her that we would NOT be delivering anything in the Suburban and that those roads are hard enough to drive when they are in good shape-much less add ice and snow-no way! I was really upset-call me a bad friend or whatever, but they KNEW this storm was coming-JUST LIKE WE DID! We got our ducks in a row-and I cannot take away from MY family to give to them OR risk our lives delivering it-or the ONLY vehicle we have- I have NEVER driven on roads as bad as the ones to their house-and they are ones that are bad enough that in a normal car-you will bottom out several times-we didnt because the Suburban is high off the ground, but its bad! I told Mike I was angry that Dana didnt take care of the wood before they left-but they want us to go and take care of it again! Dana made it seem like because HE didnt come out to help Mike cut wood over the weekend, that it was OUR FAULT that they didnt have wood-wait a minute-you offered to come help Mike cut wood-you never said YOU were going to take the wood you cut-WTH? Mike told him that he didnt want/need help-Im just angry right now. I told Angel she could come by OUR HOUSE and I would loan her our electric heaters-but I would not be giving her wood because if we lose our elec-thats our ONLY heating source and we have to have it for our family. I dont know what she will do if they lose power, but I am praying they dont!
I got a text from Tammy H last night, they had been without power for about 10 hrs and were told it would be Friday most likely before they had power back on. She said they have a wood heater.......so they had the means to stay warm, and that she had candles and all of that-said they would be okay! I wish I lived closer-not close enough to have to go through it too-I remember last year being without power for a whole week and it was awful!! I pray that they are all ok. As long as they can stay warm, thats the most important thing right now.
Megan is still having the pre-labor issues. Its going to be in the next couple of weeks. This is so neat-I love watching her belly just ripple-and talk to my little Mackenzie. I just cannot wait to hold that little girl and love her! She seems to be doing better, she is sleeping a lot and taking it easy-she cant drive, so Aaron is having to drive himself back and forth to work and such, and then he drives to see Megan on his lunch break. So, its helping her rest. We got some little diapers in the mail-and they are the tiniest things you ever saw! Im sure they will fit a cabbage patch doll, they are so little! Oh man....I just look at that and cant believe that my kids were ever that little, and Jon is just 6, so its not like its been forever-you know? I just cant wait!
I have 3 packages ready to go out and havent been able to get to the post office-Im so disappointed! I have stuff for Jeanine-I was going to bring it to the meeting and of course, that didnt happen-I so wanted to see her open her last gifts for the secret pal....but I am mailing it instead....and then I have a package for my Pooh.......so-I guess when I can get out of my driveway and get to town, we will go get them mailed off.
Yesterday, I did something I havent done since I was like 9 yrs old! I went sledding with the family. Mike was taking the boys out and hadnt asked me to join them, but did ask if I wanted to video the boys and take pics-its the first time they have ever been sledding-so I said yes, and when I got out there I decided to go down the hill once myself. I knew that it wasnt the best thing to do with hurting, but I was hurting no matter what, I figured one time wasnt going to kill me-and it was FUN! We took a cushion off the couch and I sat on that, and it is a circular sled, and so I sat down and held the edges and I was flying! We have a hill/small incline from our house to Erik and Vikkis-the path, if you will-and it was just steep enough to keep you going the whole time without stopping or anything else! Altho-on MY turn, it decides to go around in circles as its going down!!! LOL....that was fun-like being on an amusement park ride! After I went down, I made Mike take a turn and Darrel pushed him extra and you could hear him laughing and giggling too! So, we had a lot of fun...we only stayed out for about 45 minutes tho, because it had started freezing rain again and it was getting colder by the minute. We have 3 snowmobile suits tho-from Erik and Vikki from when they lived in Alaska-and they fit....Jons was a little big, and we had to tuck the bottom of the legs up and under-but it made him look even cuter! Now that we have had all the snow-when Mike gets home today, we are going back out to sled......YAY.. Jon will have so much fun doing that on his special day!
I called to get my test results and they were going to leave a message for the doc to call me back and so far, nothing. I just called yesterday, so hopefully I will have some news today. I did go ahead and start the high doses of the vitamin D that she told me about and started counting every ounce of protein I put in my body and I have to say-its a drag! Oh well, you do what you have to do. I cant wait to take the vitamin D by shot tho-so I dont have to take all the more pills during the day-would much rather give myself one to two shots per day than to have to take another 10 pills per day.
Well, peeps-I need to get off here and get Jons bday cake or cupcakes baked. His Ben 10 cake wont be picked up until Saturday but we are baking a little cake to have with us and Erik and Vikki today.
Also, we are having a Superbowl party here on Sunday-we havent had one of those in years and years, 12 I think! Renee and her "friend" Larry are coming and then we have some others coming too-its going to be so much fun! Hopefully, everything will be melted by then and everyone will stay healthy and we can have a good day!
Oh yeah, in the next week or so we also need to go out for Stephs bday. We were going to celebrate together when we went to Springfield for her dentist appt on Monday-but we didnt get to go because of the weather. Im so glad that I cancelled earlier in the morning and didnt TRY to go..We had tossed it around, but I had the nagging feeling we would end up getting stuck in Springfield-and now I know why. We were going to go to lunch and then go get her a new phone-our bday present to her-but, we didnt make it-so we have to do that too. We did have a little get together here-but she wanted it low key and we just BBQd, played some guitar hero and they had her cake and ice cream.... I think she had a good day-her boyfriend was here-so that always makes her happy.
Ok-well, I have to go. Little man is in here asking when.. when... when....so I better get....you know HOW those 6 yr olds can be! LOL...
I hope and pray that you all have a good day and that your all warm and happy and healthy!! As always, your in my thoughts and prayers. Take care. Love, Janet
Jan I turned the gas heat back on in the greenhouse about 1am after the power went out again and set it on low and it stayed on the whole time the power was out, not sure how much gas is left but it sure lasted, the temp in there stayed at about 45 - 50 degree's, everything seemed to make it alright, its nice and warm in there now. I bet you both are so glad your there lol Holler at us if ya need anything.
Better go get a couple things done, hope everyone is staying warm.
Andy
I hope everyone is staying nice and warm, and not out in it. I had stayed the weekend at Larry's and made it home just in time for it to start Monday. I sure am glad Janet, the girl's, and myself decided to put off our appointment's. The roads scare me something terrible even when they have the smallest amount on them, so I can only imagine the shape I would have been in before we got back.
Larry and I went to Janet and Mike's Saturday night and we had a blast. We love them all so much. I finally got to spend some time with my girl Steph she is such a doll. I had alot of fun laughing and joking with her. Darrel is pretty awesome to, he doesn't say much though, and Jon oh my gooodness I can't get enough of his laugh. I didn't get to see Aaron and Megan this trip, but I'm sure I will this weekend, and hopefully we will get to see Miss Mackenzie soon. Mike and Janet have done such a wonderful job raising their children, I love hanging out with them.
Larry's daughter Kayela was baptized Sunday, it was so special to be apart of it. Poor girl about froze to death. We kept asking if she was sure she wanted in the creek, and telling her she could put it off until it warmed up, but she was hearing it, she wanted it done.
After church we went for chinese and then back to Larry's and just hung out the rest of the night. It was nice just talking and visiting with his mom. I love his mom Fran she is so awesome.
Monday we had a few thing's to pick up before the storm hit, so we got that all done and the crappy weather started before we even made it home. Ice started building up on the windshield. As we were pulling in my drive Fran called and said Kayela was already home, which was good because poor Tiff wasn't and should have been. The secretary at Tiff's school left as soon as it started leaving Tiff to run the office, and she about went nut's, she said all three phone lines were going crazy with parent's wanting to know why school wasn't closing and *****ing at her for it. Then her bus ride home was even worse. They slide sideways down my big hill, the bus turn all the way around in the road and started going the other direction, the driver finally gets the bus turned around and started back up the hill and made it just about to the top and they started sliding back down and went into the ditch this time, finally the driver puts all the kids in the back to one side and gets them out. Tiff is finally able to get off the bus, and as she's walking to the house she sees it go to turn on the road right below us and it goes in the ditch again, so she waited outside to make sure it got out ok, or if we needed to call for help. I really think the school shouldn't have waited, and they should have been sent home earlier, next time I will go after Tiff.
Tiff and I got jug's of water filled for drinking, 3 coolers filled for flushing the toilet, the candles, lamp's, and flashlight's ready just in case the power went out (can't tell we been through this before huh), but so far it's only flickered once (knocking on wood now).
Tiff and I have had a couple pretty good day's together. We've watched t.v., talked, played dominoes, and just really had a nice time together.
I want to address something before you guys read Tiff and my post to Misty.
I didn't say any of those thing's to be mean or hateful, I said them hoping she would realize what she was doing and pull it together. Tiff wanted to post to her and not only give her her view but also thought it might help her to see a child and support person's view. I hope I didn't upset any of you over it. I hope and pray she pulls it together before it's to late. I also wonder if it would help anything if maybe one of you ladies that know Dr. H might give him or Margie a call and ask him to come to the board and try to help her or maybe they could give her a call to check on her, before things go from way bad to worse. Like I said I'm sorry if I upset any of you but I honestly wasn't trying to attack her or let my child attack her.
Bec sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I know I should be smacked for it. It seems like everytime I go to post the phone ring's, someone shows up, or I have to go some where. I promise I will try to do better.
I've been needing to talk to you and Janet and just haven't had the time to send an email yet. How does April 10 sound for a visit? That's when I have my 6 month appointment. I've already told Larry I needed the shaggin wagon again. I can just hardly wait for us to get together again and to get hugs from you and Janet both.
I hope you are staying in where it's safe and warm, I know you would much rather be outside walking, but maybe it won't be much longer before you can. Love You Dear Friend.
Janet thank you guy's so much for this past weekend, we loved every minute of it and can't wait to see you guy's again. I will get with Larry in the next day or two and get the plan's worked out for this weekend.
Please give Jon a huge birthday day hug for me and tell him to the cheese moon and back. He's such an angel.
Jan sounds like you guys are having fun and staying warm. I keep telling Larry he needs to hurry and go back to work some place warm so I can go with him. LOL I don't see me going anywhere until after Kala moves March 1.
I hope EVERYONE has a warm, safe, BLESSED and wonderful night.
Love and Hugs
