Daily Bible Reading - Friday Feb. 20th
Still reading in Leviticus about offerings. As long as we have been reading about offerings and blood sacrifices they really must be very important back then, as Bec said. In the first part of Leviticus we see just how important it was to follow the Lords instructions to a “T". Aarons sons Nadab and Abihu did not follow exactly how they were suppose to and had an unauthorized fire, we see the Lord destroyed them and they died, that shows you the Lord means business with all that.
As I was reading in Mark about the demon posed man that came up to Jesus, it said the he was posed with many demons, his name was Legion, being many. Reading further we see the demons begged to go into the heard of pigs that was near by, Jesus told them to go and they went into the pigs, over 2000 pigs. Can you imagine that many demons in one man? Wow, that man must of really been messed up, 2000 demons, goodness, that’s a lot of demons. That just goes to show you how alive satan is and he is working over time trying his best to get at us before the end of time, but praise the Lord we today have been given the ultimate blood sacrifice to cleanse our sins and set us free, woohoo.
Today’s devotional speaks for itself today, boy that really hit me as it has for the last week or so. I really been getting a lot out of these devotions.
***Bec*** I’m like you learning a fresh and new. This reading the bible from through in a year has so far been the best experience ever. From the short time we’ve been reading I’ve learned so much its amazing. I really think the knowledge and wisdom we are picking up from reading is going to help us get through this time of hardship in our land. God says in His word that even though we are in a famine land He will prosper us. That’s not exact but you get the meaning. Isn’t that just awesome? That also goes along with what today’s devotional says.
Today’s Reading
Leviticus 9:7-10:20
Mark 4:26-5:20
Psalm 37:30-40
Proverbs 10:6-7
Daily Devotional
Proverbs 29:18
"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed"
God wants His people to be the most blessed! He wants His people to constantly increase so they can live as an example of His goodness. But, in order to partake of everything He has in store for us, we have to be open to what He wants to do in our lives. We have to have a vision for increase. If you're not expecting favor, or if you just get satisfied with where you are, then you will live below your privileges. But if you will get a vision for increase, a vision for who you are as a child of the Most High God and what He wants to do in your life, you'll see supernatural opportunities, favor, and increase in your life. Notice what the scripture tells us when we look for what God is doing; you won't just be "average" blessed or "good enough" blessed. No, as a child of the Most High, you are entitled to be the most blessed!
I encourage you, today, to take time to focus your thoughts on God and His promises. Meditate on His Word and ask Him to increase your capacity to receive all the blessings He has in store for you.
Today's thought: I choose right now to set my mind and focus on the Lord. I choose to look for what He wants to do in and through me. I let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes, or actions that would hold me back.
"If people can't see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; but when they attend to what He reveals, they are most blessed"
Boy is this the truth. It made me think of the children of Israel then they came out of Egypt... and how many times they grumbled when things weren't perfect. Of coarse then I have to think about myself as well.
I want to "attend" to what He has been reveling to me this past couple of months, it has been much much much... I was thinking as I was walking yesterday how very much we have read already and how much of it I already have to ponder on... it's seems huge and I knew in my spirit that some things that I need to focus on that have already slipped away from me just by the sheer volume of what we have already read. There are so many principles to be considerate of.
I want to as the "Thought of the day" says.... "let go of any wrong thinking, attitudes, or actions that would hold me back!" I really really have to deal with this sometimes and want it to be "second nature" that I look at the positive and good in what I have to deal with.
Meditating on His word is my best chance of success that's for sure!
Have a good day my friend,
Bec
