Reading in the New Testament this morning really hit a nail.  In Luke it starts off talking about “Watchfullness" or be ready because you don’t know the day, time or hour the master will come back.  Reading about that really struck a cord with me today.  It starts off, be dressed and ready for service, be ready when the master comes on, open the door for him, be ready because you don’t know when he’s gonna be back.  Then it goes on talking about if the owner of the house knew at what hour the thief was coming he’d totally be prepared but that’s not the case.  Now it goes into saying if your not ready when the master comes he will cut the servant into pieces and put him out with the sinners? And it also goes and says those who know what to do and don’t do it will be beaten with severe blows.  Here we go with the harsh punishment again except its in the New Testament.  Reading that today sure makes me examine my life and want to make sure I am as ready as ready can be.  Am I doing everything I am supposed to be doing?  Am I pleasing to the Lord or am I just getting by? Man that sure gets me to searching out my life and hoping I am doing the right things and on the right track.  Did you read what Psalms and Proverbs says?  It goes right along with what we read this morning.  Proverbs was short but to the point that’s for sure.  “Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor." There’s that word Diligent again, those d words sure come up quite often don’t they?  Diligent, discipline?  I tell ya what, As long as your busy and being diligent about your life you’ll be fine, if your lazy your going to end up working harder then you can even imagine.  In the end if we really are “diligent and disciplined" we will end up with the “Inexpressible and Glorious" joy that the devotional talks about, now that’s some kind of joy and we can surely have it.

Bec and Peggy, you both amaze me with your thoughts on our readings,  I can’t thank you enough for sharing them with us.  Y’alls thoughts have blessed me and added so much to the readings, especially in times where I just don’t quite get it all then I go and read the thoughts and BAM it hits me right on top of the head.  Thank you again so much for your faithfulness in sharing, means more to me then you’ll ever  know and it sure means everything to God, blessings are flowing your ways so watch out!!

Daily Devotional

I Peter 1:8
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy"

Do you need more joy in your life? This verse tells us that when we choose to believe in God, we are filled with His joy. And not just any kind of joy—inexpressible and glorious joy! Have you ever seen someone filled with inexpressible joy over something? Their face is beaming, their heart is pounding. They can hardly contain themselves. They are so excited they can’t think of anything else. They have so much confidence over what they know that nothing can take away their joy. As believers, that’s how we should be. We should be confident in the goodness of God and filled with His inexpressible and glorious joy!

I encourage you today to be bold and believe God. Get to know Him better by knowing His Word. Hold His promises close to your heart so that you can be filled with His confidence and joy all the days of your life.

Today's thought: Thank You for Your joy unspeakable and full of glory. I choose to believe You and trust in Your goodness. I invite you to search my heart and remove anything that would keep me from all You have in store.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
