My body has betrayed me!

Here I am at 15 months out and I am hating my body as much as before surgery. No it isn't the extra skin I don't have any. I started out at 300 lbs. and got down to 220 lbs. Now I have somehow gained back another 20 lbs. What am I doing so wrong? My 3 year old eats more than I do and I am gaining like crazy. I lost half as much as I wanted to in the first place. I just needed to vent and I guess I am going back to square one. Start over with the eating and exercising. Has anone else had this problem? My husband who had surgery the same day lost 150 lbs and is still loosing and is doing fantastic and I am just the opposite. Before long it will be like I didn't have the surgery at all and all those people who told me not to do it because they knew someone who gained it all back and then some.... they would be right. Any advise besides stop feeling sorry for myself... I already know that.

I am not as far out as you but I was told if you go back to basics you can still lose anytime. Have you thought about doing the five day pouch test? I hear it works. My biggest fear is I will start gaining. I hope things turn around for you soon.

I was about 12 - 13 months out and started gaining weight.  I was eating things I wasnt suppose to and I wasnt excersing like I was suppose too.  I let that go on for almost a year until I had gained 50 maybe 60 lbs, Im really not sure because I refused to get on the scale but I know I had gained back quite a bit because i was having to wear my bigger cloths again.

Is what I did was just get back to basics and I started losing, slowly but surely.  Is what really helped me is that my wife had the surgery almost 4 months ago and I did everything she did before and after surgury, went on the 2 week liquid diet and then did the progression diet as she did after surgery,  I have lost about 80 - 100 lbs since I went back to basics and have set my mind on NOT eatting the things Im not suppose too.  I know when I am done losing weight I can eat a few things that I shouldnt but until then I have set my mind on not cheating like my old self would.

The 5 day pouch test does work if you want to try it first, it helped me get back to basics.  The website for it is www.5daypouchtest.com/ .  Its not easy losing weight after you've gained again but it really is doable if you set your mind to it.  And since your husband has had the surgery it should be a bit easier for ya.  I sure hope this helps.  Good luck.  If ya have any other questions dont hesitate to holler.

Linda have you gone back and have Dr H. check you out? there might be something that is wrong.. could be that your stoma has stretched ...or pouch has stretched,.... there is a new surgey that just goes in and takes a stitch or two in the area and makes them smaller much like making a pleat in t he area,  Dr. H i dont think does it but he refers them to Columbia to be checked to see if that is what they need.
What  sort of exercise do you do? how about walking?  it really does help ... m just knocking things around here but there is help ...so dont give up....there is something that will work....
