Is laproscopic surgery possible at 500 pounds??

Jeff, My surgeon was Dr. Van Wagner. I chose him because he was willing to do my surgery the lap method, when others were not willing. I have had no complications and my surgery was 4/11 and I am down 43 pounds. It was 8 1/2 inches last week. He may put you on a liquid protein diet before surgery to lose some but if you have never had surgery before, then you have no scar tissue, which could cause a problem. However, the heavier you are the harder it is for him to navigate his instruments. Week before surgery I was 404. After one week of liquid diet, not protein, I lost 20 pounds, so at surgery I was 384 and my surgery was lap method. Dr. Van Wagner is a very caring person.
