Virus/sickness going around

My mom had that awful stuff that has been going around. Lots of people at our very small church have had it. (I wish people would stay home when they are sick.) I have stayed away from church this week because I didn't want to be exposed to it. I've stayed away from my mom too. Did anyone have any colds or anything before surgery? Do you think it could be postponed because of getting something? I was exposed to this when everyone else was and so far I'm fine. Surgery is Monday and I don't want to take alot of chances. But I sure don't want it postponed either. Mom got on antibiotics on Monday and finally felt better yesterday. It was a big change when she did. Hope everyone stays well.

Jennifer I have heard it go both ways. Depends on the Doctor and what is wrong with the patient. But just think postive thoughts and Lord willing it will skip over you. I got your email and wrote you back then went into your profile and signed your surgery page. I know your excited and ready for your day. I will be looking foward to your email. And I will be talking to you before you go into surgery. Just stay clear of sick people. lol Melissa

Jennifer, Melissa is correct. It depends on the surgeon and what you get prior to surgery. If it is an upper respiratory thing, chances are you will be rescheduled for the obvious reasons of surgery and needing to have ease of breathing. I think you're smart in playing it safe. You aren't going to Exile Island but being conservative, cautious and protective of being this close and not wanting to take chances. In the interim, get the sleep and rest you need, and drink lots of water. If you are on the edge of getting something, drinking water can many times help in keeping it in check and pass you by! Please let us know and we'll be thinking healthy/non-germ thoughts for you! Take care, Cathy ObesityHelp Support Group Specialist
