Congrats!  I know you are excited.  Good luck with changing churches.  We did that about 2 years ago or so.  And it all worked out great, and we are all happy where we are.  God will work it all out.

Whenever I had my surgery, there were lots of people who were several months ahead of me, some right with me, and several who were months behind me.  So, we had a clothing swap.  We brought all of our clothes and organized them by size and had us a good ole swap.  It was fun.

I had heard that too.  So, that is where hubby took our son to get his license when he turned 16.  He had called Hattiesburg first.  They told him it was about a two hour wait there.  So, he headed to Laurel.  He got there, got the license, and got back in less than that.  So, when I do go, I will probably go to Laurel.

Topic: One month SURGIVersary!
Today is my one month anniversary for my REALIZE Lap Band surgery! And I truly feel like "a new creation in Christ"! (2 Cor. 5:17) LOL!

I feel so energetic, even when I don't get a full night's sleep. I still feel nervous everytime I put on my clothes, worried that they will be too tight or that I can't get my arms through the sleeves. And instead, they fall onto me so much nicer. And I have to pinch myself to make sure that it is really true!

Wednesday night I sat in a chair at church, and my hips weren't sore when I got up from being crammed in between the arm rests. I've gotten lazy about Curves though these past 2 weeks, so I really need to get back onto that bandwagon. No excuses, just laziness.

Other than that, we are in the process of changing churches. Last Wednesday night, I officially joined the choir at church. So this Sunday our family will officially join the church. I know. I did it backwards, but music is my passion. So for me, I did it in the right order. Lol. But this process has been pretty stressful on us. What church you attend is a very personal matter. And some of our friends understand our reasons for this, while others don't. And that's hard when your friends can't or won't try to understand that it's not about them, but the big picture. Yet I've not used this as an excuse to overeat. And that is the 1st time in my life I haven't dealt with stress by shoving food into my mouth. Maybe that's God's way of telling us we are doing the right thing. Only time will tell.

Stats:
Wt lost: 23 lbs
Shirt sizes: 1 - 2 sizes
Skirt size: 1 size
Pants size: 1 size
AND - I am having to adjust all of the arm straps on my bras because upper torso and my arms are shrinking. Who new?
Lifestyle: I've had to adjust my steering wheel one notch because my stomach isn't in the way anymore.
1st fill: 09/25/08 Dr. Avara's office 9:00 am - this makes me a little nervous. So I am alternating real food with mushy foods to make sure that I am chewing it enough before swallowing. But it will be ok.

God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!

Thanks for listening,
Tammy

What do you guys do with your fat clothes?

And how do you handle buying smaller clothes, knowing that you are going to continue losing even more weight?

I have been using Freecycle. It's a group on Yahoo and you can join the one nearest you for free. It's an alternative to throwing things away. You can post that you have something to give away, or that you are looking for something. Then people e-mail you if they can meet your need. You meet, and you hand off or receive the items. The group is free, and the giving away of items is also free. I am using it to look for clothes and shoes. My feet have even shrunk, so my shoes are all now too big. LOL!

I can't wait to have my own DMV story. LOL! By the way Melissa, I have heard a couple of times now that the lines are much, much shorter in Laurel for some reason. Just a thought. Tammy

I still have the fat picture on my license .  When it came up for renewal, Hurricane Katrina had occurred and the DMV wasn't open.  So, I just had to renew online leaving the old picture and the old weight (which wasn't accurate for the picture).  In my license picture I was 8 months pregnant with Catherine and weighed 260.  But the weight listed says 160.  LOL.  I went once to try and get it updated and change the pic and the wt, but the line was so long.  It was going to be a 3 hour wait, and I didn't have 3 hours.  So, my pic remains the same.  I have been accused of not being the person in the pic.  LOL.  Too funny.
