WOW 20 lbs Tammy that is WONDERFUL.  I am so proud for you!  Your food looks good but you might want to up that protein.  Try to fit in a couple of protein shakes a day if you can.  Like 3 ozs in am then 3 oz's about hour later so on throughout the day.  I like the sf carnation instant breakfast but the vanilla slim fast high protein optima is WONDERFUL.

Hi everyone....I'm new to the board, awaiting a date (should be anyday now).  I've been lurking around this board for a whilie and thought I should introduce myself and say hello.  Thanks to everyone for being here....I've learned so much from OH.

Topic: RE: Support groups in Columbus/Tupelo area?
We've already met!  We met at a support group in Bham, I think it was Memorial Day, I had my grand daughter with me and you were having some ulcer problems, and we talked about a C-Pap.  Looks like you got that problem corrected and have gone through with your surgery...that's awesome.  I walk everyday at 5:30 or so at the soft track around the playground at CAFB, maybe we can walk together.  I

have visited the Alabama board, and was looking for patients of Dr. Clements....I have not figured out how to search the boards without going page by page!  I steered my husband to this site and others so that he can understand what's going on with me.  I am having RNY, and since we are retired military, I too have Tricare.

I had to quit smoking for 3 months prior to surgery and my three months runs this coming Friday.  Hopefully it won't be long before I have a date.  Dr. Clement's staff would not schedule my surgery until the three months ran.  So I'm just waiting and getting frustrated.  I like Dr. Clements a lot, believe him to be the best, and want him to do my surgery, however, as of Friday I'm ready and as of this minute, I have no date.  His staff says "I am in line," but it really is frustrating, considering I worked so hard to get to this point.

Tell me, did you have to lose any weight prior to surgery or do liquids for two weeks prior?  I have gained a few pounds since May and wonder what he's going to say about that.  I sure don't want to delay a surgery date any further if I can avoid it.

Breakfast: 6 oz Low fat milk, with 1 scoop of instant coffee, 1 scoop protein powder, 1 shake of Davinci's SF Kalua. I will sip on this all morning.

Lunch: 3 oz pureed cream of potato soup

Snack: 3 oz SF pudding

Supper: 3 oz refried beans, 1 slice of cheese, microwaved and stirred together

TONS of water

I think I have lost 20 pounds now. 10 pounds pre-op and 10 pounds since surgery. But everytime I get on my scale it gives me a different number. So that's why I say, I "think" I've lost that much. LOL!

The numbers really don't matter to me. I feel better and my clothes are fitting better. YES LORD!!

I snuck in a slice of cheese and microwaved the cheesy refried beans and then stirred it all together. They tasted almost sinful. So I could definitely do this every night!

THANKS for the super easy and yummy suggestion!

We had pinto beans cooked in the crockpot, buffalo chicken strips, fried hubby some potatoes and made some cornbread.

I fixed tuna salad tonight for dinner, and we had it on Sara Lee Delightful Wheat bread.  Hubby had some mandarin oranges with his.  I just had the sandwich because that is all I could hold.  No room for sides.  LOL.

I am not a huge fan of tuna most of the time, but I tried a trick my friend showed me and it did well.  I mixed one can of chicken to two cans of tuna in order to cut some of the fishiness.  And it worked, and I really enjoyed it.  Very good protein source.

How'd the refried beans do for ya?  They were a staple in my diet for weeks.  LOL.
