I am trying to revise my signature bar ticker. And am using this as a test to see if it works.

Topic: LOOKING FOR LOCAL SUPPORT GROUP IN MERIDIAN, MS

Is there anyone out there that can tell me where I might find a bariatric support group, possibly in Meridian, Ms? I live in Butler, am planning on having the lap band procedure possibly after the first of the year, and one of the requirments is that I get involved in a support group. Would like any suggestions...Butler is 35 miles from Meridian, do not want to travel any further than that, plus I work in Meridian, Ms.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Hello fellow Mississipians....congrats on passing the psych eval...I have my eval on the 21 november in Mobile, Al...I live in Butler, but work in Meridian, Ms.
I think when the shrink evals me, he is going to say I maynot be the brightest bulb in the room, but will be ok. I am looking at doing the lap band, do you know anyone in Miss. who has had the band? I would like to find a support group in Meridian, but not sure where to go to find one...any suggestions? Good luck and God bless. Farmgirl58

Hello Cheylynn, I am a 57 yr old lady who is wanting to hve the lap band procedure done...and I am getting negative jabs from my mother who had gastric bypass done over 10yrs ago, and also one of my best friends is being negative about my decision to have this surgery. she too is very big lady, and says she can lose the weight herself, but so far has not succeeded. Why these folks want to be so negative is beyond me. I tell them I am doing this for ME, no one else, it is my turn to do soemthing to improve my health, want to be around 30 more years. MY fella friend though is my best supporter, he is very encouraging, as his daughter has the gastric a few years ago, lost 180 lbs! He knows how being over weight can cause so many problems, not just physical, but mental! So, keep your goals high, do what you feel is right for you...research everything you can on the surgery, and God bless, you will succeed.

Hey everybody. Went to see Dr. Avara today, and everythings good. I am able to move on to a full diet and get to workout with weights now. I didn't really have enough to post a blog, so I thought I would update my fellow Mississippians. Hope everyone's doing well.

Hi Cheylynn, well I think you and I have came to the right place. There seems to be a lot of friendly people here, who know exactly what your talking about. Myself being one of those people of corse :) I also have to wait but not sure how long. And several family members including the hubby and friends who don't understand so they have tried to discourage me from having WLS.
