This month’s Weight Loss Surgery Support Group meets this week in Hattiesburg.

The closest Lap Band surgeon to Hattiesburg is Dr. Avara in Ocean Springs. He is my surgeon. His office hosts these monthly meetings in Hattiesburg.

It doesn't matter what type of surgery you are having or have had, nor does it matter who your surgeon is. If you just want to ask questions or just sit and listen to what others have you say, you are more than welcome to come!

Good Chilly Morning Mississippi!! Hope everyone had a good weekend. We had a good day at church yesterday. We had a pastor appreciation lunch for our preacher. He was so surprised. We managed to pull it off without him knowing it was for him!! Teehee!! He is hard to trick!! Better get those longjohns out for tomorrow! It is suppose to be 32 in the mornign...brrrrr! Have left hubby a note asking him to please light the heater today! Hope everyone has a good day. Chat tonight!!

Hope you are feeling better. I had several UTI's during my first 9 months post op and kidney stones twice. Kidney stones are from the devil!!!! Please be sure you sip, sip, sip on tha****er!!!

Congrats!!! We are neighbors, sorta. I live in Belmont. Dr. Pison is a great guy. He did not do my surgery but has seen my mom a couple of times in the past, before he started WLS. I am wanting to start the support group at the Wellness Center. Do you attend?

I think we all have/had those family members we had to convince for one reason or another. Mine was my husband. He had heard all of the horror stories of surgeries gone "bad" form years past. I took him to the siminar with me, let him listen to the doctor, ask questions, etc and he slowly began to change his mind. By the time my surgery date arrived, he was on board all the way. It jsut takes time. As for the rude remarks, I wish I could say it goes away after surgery but it doesn't. There are still people who have comments or feel they are my "food police" watching what is on my plate and how much of it I eat. I always put more on my plate than I eat. Partly habbit and partly issues with food. I never know what I am going to be able to eat. Not because of my puch, I have texture/taste issues. Things tend to taste really bland to me most of the time. Anyway, I let my husband and my mom know first. My mom was on board from the beginnig, nervous but all for it. It took a little longer for hubby. Best of luck!
