Bill, while I might not be up as far along in years as you I have to say it is most certainly the loss of weight. I'm a 37, partially disabled vet since 03 with 2 really boogered up legs. But I always had lots of extra strength in my arms and since having my surgery on Halloween last year I have lost so much power. Seriously changing a tire was a issue, heck even doing an oil change was getting close to struggle except for the fact I an fit under the vehicle now with out jacking it up, lol. I miss the strength but dont miss the other health issues with the extra weight. Anyway its nice to see you still put in the effort to be helpful to strangers.
I'm sure your generation has all sorts of complaints about my generation but just know my generation has so many with this next gen too. Good luck with the extra protein. I do it myself when I feel a little weaker.

Start of 6 month pre-op diet (2/14): 320 lbs.
6/18: 283 lbs
6/25: 287 lbs
This weigh-in was my 1st true reality check since I started this journey in February. My first significant gain (up 4 lbs) and a reminder of how I have struggled with weight loss the past. Not sure what it was exactly. When I concentrate, I can get myself down to the mid 280s, but it seems like getting beneath that range is where I have troubles. The heat has kept me a little less active with my lunchtime walks, but I'm still working out most mornings. I'm still keeping my calories down, but I did have more carbs and less protein that what I had been eating previously. I need to focus on my eating this week and make smarter choices. Disappointed but I know that its all mental. If I can't do it now, I know I wont be able to do it after VSG so I must get my head straight again. I only have 2 months to go before I can apply for surgery to be covered by my insurance company.

I was traveling yesterday so I couldn't weigh in. Today Wasn't bad at 213, up about .4#
Two more weeks at home, then I start traveling a little bit again. I'm a getting a little bored with the new job, so getting out and working with people will be a welcome change.

It was a great week. Eating well, getting lots of work done. Yesterday morning I was at 195. Yesterday evening was a buddy's pig roast. I did well eating mostly meat, but maybe a little too much of the delicious salty crispy skin.
Good week to all.

Nice little drop there for half a day's labor. Granted it is a little "balmy" here. Balmy as in 95+ degrees with little humidity thrown in for extra measure. Have to be careful on the eating front especially at work. Mind you where I work we've only had one eatery - Mexican. Now the "café" is back open. Frankly too damn hot to want to eat food anyway. Tried it twice. Hamburger steak was little too grisly and fish was little greasy but edible.
Have to see what happens schedule wise next week. Hopefully I'm done ghosting new guy.
Go forth and have a Great Week!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

There are no levers of power, at least on this sub forum. Beware the flying monkey squadron on some of the others though.
Last week I was on the road, so I only had a guess of about 264, which is close to where I was (have been) for a while. Today I was 262 even. Yesterday I hit my lowest ever of 261 for the third time. I've been pretty stable at 263-266 since January. My surgeon told me I didn't really have anything more to lose at my 18 month checkup in April. So I am content.
I am a little shaky on the levers of power here but trying to start the weekly thread.
I meant to spend the weekend treating and painting my garage floor but a busy work week put those plans on hold. Ended up with kind of quiet weekend and saw Han Solo last night.

Hope everyone had a great Father's Day.
I am the father of two girls and I spent my Father's Day exactly how I wanted to. Sleeping in till 11 AM and then not leaving the house at all. Just a few household chores and relaxing with the family.

Did a little better with diet and exercise this past week but not as well as I can. I'm really focusing hard this week as I have my monthly appointment next week with my weight management doctor. I'm halfway through my 6 month pre-surgery program!!

I am late here. I am not sure what I weigh today, as my last weigh in was Friday. We went on the road to deliver our oldest grandchild into the hands of her aunt (our daughter), uncle, and her four cousins (aka the little monsters). Friday, after almost a week of indiscreet eating, I was up to 264, from 263 1/4 last week. Tomorrow it is back to my regular program, aka the salt mine, as I call it. I will get by - a Grateful Dead reference.
Here is our ride with the trailer. We bought this 10 year old used camper before my surgery. I fit into the booth, but just barely. Along with the outside pic is one of me sliding in with lots of room to spare. My lovely wife and I also fit onto the almost queen sized bed, but nuff said about that. You'll just have to imagine the rest.
Happy Father's day to all celebrating.
We took a few days to visit family on the New England coast this week. The weather did not cooperate so no swimming or fishing. Now that we are back in Chicago its roasting hot.
