Topic: I highly recommend Dr. Guillermo Alvarez in Mexico for Gastric Sleeve!
Dr. Alvarez, Susan and his team are true professionals. The care and attentive nature of each member genuinely shows that they care about your well being. Every step of my surgical journey was exactly as it was presented to me prior to the surgery which made me feel safe and reassured. Any prior concerns or hesitation I may have felt were gone. If you are considering this procedure please choose Dr. Alvarez, you will NOT be disappointed! Sincerely, A grateful recent patient Cristina Speciale 'Canada's future Spokesperson'

Topic: Anyone have VSG done in Tijuana recently?

I have been researching for months and I have determined that I am ready to make the life change and have VSG done. I am actually extremely excited about "breaking up with food"! I am ready to enjoy life again. My question is who has had this surgery in Tijuana? Who did you use? What are your reviews/advice/tips? I have been looking at Dr. Fernando Garcia at Tijuana Bariatrics. Has anyone used him?

Topic: My surgery in Mexico ...

When I disclose to a doc that I had my surgery done in Mexico is like i stepped on their toes, OMG. Im like, seriously, first of all, if i even try to access this surgery in USA, I have to go tru so much drama, evaluation this, evaluation that, this test, that test, and whatever here and there and don't forget $$$$$. I am very proud of my experience in Mexico, the staff at the clinic were awesome.

Why can we take our own care in our hands, in decisions such as this one? The whole situation was very empowering, the research, the planning, taking the desicion, going to Mexico and having it done. I wish we had it available in USA, as suppose to dealing with all the burocracy of our current medical insurance nonsense.

Hi,

I was wondering if you guys have any experience with Mexicali bariatrics center?

I checked their website out and find it strange that you can just book your surgery from the website...

do they not require you to see the doctors ahead of time? how does it work exactly?

Also, how much do they charge for VSG or DS? i might have to pay for it myself, so I am looking into some options..

most ppl who have to go to MX for surgery can't go for a consult and then go back for the surgery dovthe consult is gone online and by email.

they are the only ones who can tell you the cost, which they are glad to do with no obligation on your part to schedule surgery.

by the way, Mexicali Bariatrics is the only group in MX I recommend after having three surgeries on the area.

I hope you are able to gather the funds and all goes well.

CareCredit.com is one I often see used

0% Intro APR credit card maybe?

I was a self pay in Mexico but cash pay for both my WLS and plastics (which is why I have a 1997 fingers-crossed-it-lasts-many-more-years vehicle) both great experiences wishing you the same.

I used www.beliteweight.com - they offer in-house financing. I had to make a deposit and provide a down-payment (based on credit) and then paying the rest off in monthly installments ~ about 2 years. Granted you have to use the surgeons that have partnered with them, but I have had excellent success. I had a VSG to RNY revision in March 2016 & have lost 145 pounds & have been maintaining for about 4-6 months. No complications post-op and they were great to work with.

My credit was crap (~680) so my only option for an unsecured loan was through Lending USA. With your credit being a lot higher than mine I would think you would have better options. I had quite a few that would have let me use my car as collateral for a secured loan but that freaked me out. It's not that I'm not planning to pay my loan back, of course I am planning on it, but anything could happen & I don't want to have to worry that I might have my car taken from me. So for me getting the unsecured loan was the best choice.
