We are very excited to announce the 2017 ObesityHelp National Conference Saturday sessions and professional speakers. Whether you're new to ObesityHelp Conferences or a returning attendee, there are lots of sessions and activities you’ll want to attend!

Diana M. Vogel, MS, LMFT

As the Emcee, Diana is going to kick off the celebration with a Mix ‘n Mingle. Take this opportunity to meet and mingle with other attendees for fun games and exciting giveaways!

As a weight loss surgery patient, Diana is excited to bring two important perspectives of this journey to the conference; a personal side, as well as a professional side. As a therapist, she believes in the power of change, and that everyone is capable of achieving it. As a patient, she is walking proof that meeting our goals, and succeeding ones own expectations, can be a reality.

Kristin Lloyd, MS, LMHC, LPC, PhD Candidate

When the ups and downs of life happen, they can sometimes throw you off balance, weaken your mindset, and allow old patterns to re-emerge. Join Kristin as she shares strategies on how you can handle life’s ups and down while staying motivated.

Kristin’s passion for helping people led her to work with weight loss surgery patients to shift their mindset after surgery. She works with bariatric surgery patients to create behavioral, emotional, and lifestyle changes that occur following bariatric surgery.

Bec McDorman, MS

Rise ‘n Shine with Bec as she demonstrates modifications for common Yoga positions, you’ll get to enjoy Yoga in a way that works for you and your body! Later, join Bec as she explains why each of the WLS procedures need different vitamin supplementations, the importance of vitamins and deficiency symptoms every patient needs to know.

As a post-op, Bec pursued her passion for nutrition and will soon be a RD. In June 2017, Bec completed her dietetic internship at Johns Hopkins and her Masters from Cal Poly Pomona.

Dr. Connie Stapleton, PhD

If you’re concerned about regain, join Dr. Connie Stapleton as she gives you tips to support you in many areas of your life including your way of thinking, your past, and innermost feelings. Learn about the relationships you have with yourself, food and others. She will touch on the topic of food addiction and cross addiction.

Connie Stapleton, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist and has worked with WLS patients for 15 years. She has developed an online video series, teaches an online course, and written four books to support WLS patients.

Lori Newlon RN, CBN, NTP

It can be difficult to stay focused on your goals when you’re going to eat out or travel. There are a maze of restaurants and food choices you need to navigate. Join Lori as she talks about the ways you can remain focused and enjoy your dining experiences.

Lori is a Registered Nurse, Certified Bariatric Nurse, and a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. After weighing 300 pounds, in 2005, Lori made the life-changing decision to have WLS, undergoing the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure.

Food addiction and an addiction to sugar is a fear of many bariatric patients. Are sugar substitutes helpful? Join Tiffany as she discusses cravings and addiction to sugar, sugar substitutes, and the neurobiological processes involved with addiction.

Tiffany’s nutritional philosophy is strongly rooted in Health At Every Size (HAES) and the intuitive eating model. She provides nutrition counseling and guidance towards a more intuitive, trusting relationship with food and their bodies.
