I guess i will see you there as my surgery is on the 18th in Moncton. I go up from Saint John tomorrow for the final appointment. I don't mind the shakes too much, just the bathroom part lol. I was this close to surgery in November, but my blood was low and had to have it postponed, so I'm not getting nervous yet.
If I am being honest, I am very tired of them and the fact that I am only taking in a sweet, sweet diet. I am diabetic and have not had much for sweets in a very long time so I find them to be extremely sweet. I asked Rhinette today if I could have fat/salt free broth and she said no, so I guess I just have to suck it up and finish off this phase. How are you doing on them? Are you being done in Moncton?
So happy for you....I go on March 13th.....How are you making out on the shakes?
I am right there with you, good luck. My surgery is in Moncton (I live in freddy) on Feb. 18. I agree this is an exciting time. All the best on a speedy recovery.
Cheers
Ellie
Wow Ellie! Congrats! That's so exciting. My date is the 19th but I will be in Fredericton for mine. Good Luck! and Keep up the great work
J just got back from Moncton this afternoon, had the MRSA test (nothing to get excited about, over in minutes), one more week of shakes and then the big day is a week from tomorrow on the 18th (please God keep me healthy, no colds or flu) But the big news is that in one week I LOST 10 POUNDS!! That is truly a "HOLY CRAP ON A CRACKER MOMENT". Let the games begin!!!!!
Very excited I start my pre-op diet tomorrow ...I know that I can do it because my doctor required that I do a pre pre op diet for a week to prep for this one back in December.
I have pre op appointment in the morning at the DECH. surgery is on the 19th. I am very happy that my doctor does a full fluid diet and not a boost diet . I really don't like boost but I do like the protein shakes.
Everything has finally fallen into place. I'm excited!
I just bought mine in the spice section at Superstore. There was a caramel one there that might be good in a vanilla or chocolate shake.
At the Bathurst clinic we are told we can add anything that doesn't add calories. My favorite was adding orange extract to a chocolate shake. Tastes like a Terry's Chocolate Orange. I am one of the odd ones in that I enjoyed every single Boost I drank!
