Hi Kim. My GP referred me to both clinics in Moncton with dr beausoliel AND Bathurst with dr savioe. I called last month to the moncton office and she told me they were putting a hold on referrals right now and they didn't know when they would be starting up again. So I then called Bathurst and they said within 4-6 months for my initial visit. Then got my call from Sandra within a day or so with an appointment with the team. So glad I went there. I could have been waiting another year or so if I had waited for Moncton. The drive is long but it's what I have to do to get healthy! The wait is hard though, I know!
I got it!!!! My surgery is January 7th the worst part will be starting preop on Christmas Eve! But it's ok I can do it! I'm sooo over the moon! It was a long time coming but it's so close I can touch it! Wish me luck! Bring on the high boots I can zip up:) lol
Hi...Kim here from PEI!
I have Dr.B in Moncton...I signed off for surgery in sept and have been waiting for the booking call ever since. I was told initially it was about a 6 month wait...but I call George Dumont hospital OR booking last month and they told me there was probably another 6 month wait...so I am looking at possibly April. The waiting is killing me...but at least it is the last bit of waiting. Cant wait to have it over with!
Oh I have been wondering how you were doing!!!! Do you feel thst you were prepared for what actually happened and how you feel now? So excited to see your post. I was into the clinic and met the team last Thursday as well.
Hello to all, I just got back on to read the posts. I completed my 2 week liquid diet with a 24 pound weightloss and I got to say, I felt proud when I got on the scale the morning of my surgery. I had my surgery last Thursday , the day of the big storm, not a fun drive . but made it safe and sound. All is well , the Bathurst hospital, all of their staff were fantastic !!!! I am getting around pretty good, day by day it is getting easier. I know how alot of you feel anxiously awaiting for your calls, I have been there. But I will tell you this, it does move fast. One day your meeting them, and it seems the next your getting testing done. Then the "BIG" call for surgery date.I have learned in the 5 years that, it was so worth the wait, and trust me - you will not look back. Everyday is a new day, new beginning. Good luck to all.
Hey there. I got a call last week with a surgery date mid January in Moncton. Getting exciting now that its so close. For anyone who has had the sleeve procedure, Is the post op discomfort bad or long lasting Cant wait to get it behind me
Oh I hope you get your call!! Personally I would go in anytime in december! Let us know when you get it!!!
I figure if I don't hear anything this week it will be after Christmas. I am half tempted to call preop but don't wasn't to make a pest of myself.
This is what Monique told me. She said they are shutting down for 2 weeks at Christmas and she said they usually tell patients that it will likely be 6-8 months before I have my surgery! So.... Lol. Guess it'll be awhile for me!
