Congratulations Kim, I couldn't be happier for you! It's such a relief when that call comes, the last hurdle!

I'm happy to hear its going well. No headaches?

You may already know this but just in case not, don't forget to save the receipts for things like your shakes as you include that, your parking receipts, tolls, hotel receipts that are related to surgery, pre and post appointments in with the medical portion of your tax return.

I just spoke with the company who did the shakes...they did just change the formula...so gone are the yucky shakes. Something I didn't think about is that we can also purchase them for after the surgery when we can't eat solid foods yet. $21 for a box of seven shakes and $19 for seven bars.  Plus the shipping charges, but still, good to know!

So first day done!  The shakes are good!  I was pleasantly surprised. Just like drinking a frothy chocolate milk. And the caramel peanut bar was tasty. I dint add ice or anything else. Wonder if they made their product more palatable??  I am mixing it there with a hand mixer that goes into the glass. I don't know what they are called exactly.

Hi I would take a shake to work and make one at work. I have a fridge at work and took a large ziplock bag of ice and put it in the freezer there to put in my second shake. I would mix the protein powder with some instant coffee and water and ice and shake it up in a GNC shaker that has a wire whisk in it. Good luck!

OMG. I just had my first shakes and it just tasted like chocolate milk!  This definitely wasn't what I had tried when my friend had to do it two weeks ago!!  Although liquids first thing in the morning on an empty stomach is kind of nauseating.  Hmmm maybe not as bad as I feared! Did they change their product to be more palatable?

Thanks for all your posts. You guys are like warm fuzzies on demand. Lol. I feel better about the chance that I probably won't be sick for the next two weeks. Shakes start tomorrow. I was told I had to give up my dark pop last November by the psychologist. She wouldn't put my name forward til I did. I was very addicted to it then. Now if I want pop I was drinking 7up or root beer. And I don't do coffee and very rarely tea, so I haven't really had caffeine for six months. Hopefully that helps. I thought the headaches and nausea were from the lack of sugar and carbs in the diet.

Anyway. Here it goes. Celebrated my sons 16th birthday today. Had supper at Montana's and cake at home. All done real food now!  At least I can drink mio, so not just yucky shakes and water. :)
