Topic: Shakes

I ordered my shakes today and was pleasantly surprised to see that they have the bars again.  Someone had posted here that the company in Quebec was no longer supplying them. Well they must have brought them back in. You can order just the shakes or shakes and bars. Four shakes per day or three shakes and two bars. I opted for the mixed bunch. It was $247.24 with tax and shipping for both ($212.44 for just shakes).  And there were different flavours for the bars. So I got the chocolate peanut and caramel nut ones.  There is also chocolate decadence, vanilla peanut, and caramel delight.  I hope I will like the flavours of the bars. I know the shakes are gross. I tried my friends when she was prepping for the surgery.

the one i wish i would have known before surgery is Unjury.  that is the only thing i can drink to this day.  not at all chalky like most other protein shakes.  i mainly order the chocolate splendar, i now use it only in my coffee, but to drink by itself is by far the best investment I've done. i used to buy the unflavored also, but depends what you want to use it for, that is good if you want to put in food so it's tasteless, however for me the only i found i could mix in food is when i do smoothies.

no matter how many container you order, it's a flat fee of $18 for shipping. however because it's coming from the states, you might get hit with duty fees. it's random, some i was never charged and other time i was. i just paid it, then complained to them and they always reimbursed me the amts paid as they keep saying they are working with canadian borders to open something on the canada side so it won't affect canadians as much.

I went to Moncton today and did my preop testing and saw Monique ( nurse) and the dietician. They gave me all the info I need. Exactly what to eat and when afterwards, etc. it was so helpful. If anyone is worried about what you can eat etc afterwards...it is such a relief.  I had blood work, chest X-ray, and an ECG. I didn't know I was doing all that today!  But it's good to know that they are very consiencious about our health.  They will test for MRSAs at the next appt, one week before surgery. Lovely test that one!  Two swabs in the nose and one in the bum.

Topic: Any remicade users on here?

I just got a call to go see Dr. Savoie on Sept 26th.  I am currently on Remicade for my arthritis and am wondering if anyone else has had the surgery while on remicade?

I want to stock up on a few necessities prior to my surgery.  Can  anyone that's been through a vsg give me some advice on what to stock up on and where to get it please.  I would be very grateful.

I already have a mug warmer and a stash of vitamins from a friend! I am just in ready mode!!! And also has any used or know where to get the unjury clear protein and the soup base?

Hi all,

I am two years post op RNY and recently moved from Ontario. I have had my first baby as well and still down 156lbs. Would love to reconnect with OH and find out about the clinic here for follow up.

thanks in advance,

Kelsey
