OT: Looking to relocate my family and I to NC...
Any and all input and information would be greatly appreciated. I had WLS RNY in April of 2005. I lost a total of 160lbs and started a new journey in life. Looking to guide that journey to NC. We are currently looking in the Weddington/Waxhaw area. We are planning a trip down to NC the end of this month and would like to have as much info as we could. We have 4 school age boys 9,6,3,1 and a baby on the way...I know we are nuts! LOL Thank you all in advance.

Welcome to NC
Weddington is nice, don't know a lot about Waxhaw though. We had looked at some houses a year or so ago in Waxhaw and thought it might be to far out for us. Of course we are still looking. NC has a lot to offer, I myself moved here 9 years ago from California and I love it (would never go back to Cali) I have become a southern girl and that's ok.
Are you coming for fun or to look for a place to live? either way my suggestion would be to google the area and just take it from there. I wish you luck on your new journey, and congrats on the weight loss you look fantastic!
And once again Welcome To North Carolina!
Donna
I am originally from MI and live just north of Charlotte and have been here for 15 years. I would never ever go back north. The area is beautiful and while we still have 4 seasons, the winters are very very mild.
Job market down here is still pretty good considering the rest of the country is much slower. They say the housing market in the Charlotte area is down about 25% but I haven't seen it in my area.
Good luck,
Pam
I was born and raised in Charlotte. My father and sister live in the Matthews/Weddington areas. I think you will love the area and you will find as you look that Waxhaw is not too far out. Another place to look would be in Indian Trail or Pineville area. These are all inside Mecklenburg County and easy access to all of the nicer things to do in Charlotte. Welcome to NC and the NC OH Board. Good luck in your search for the perfect home!
