Hi all. My name is Michelle and I was just sleeved two days ago. Just realized they have local forums which is exciting.

So far my experience has been ok. I've been doing a lot of the sipping, walking, rest in and posting lol.

Decided I would give eggs a go today for dinner...I am not terribly uncomfortable but am definitely feeling it.

Would live to make new friends and share the experience.

Michelle

I stated it was MY opinion.  If you do not like it, don't read it, ignore it, block me.

Having know people in real life that had SEVERE health issues (including one who was given days to live!), I have a strong opinion on childrens vitamins.

Well Father Don, my surgeon has been in practice for many years and is very highly reccommended so please be careful on HOW you say things.  I was told the take the Flintstones in the beginning right after surgery and I was asking about what additional ones to be taking now that I have progressed through the "healing process" a bit more.  If you do not have anything nice to say, please do not comment.

Here's a GREAT trick - when you feel hungry (or find you shoving your head in the fridge or pantry), Take a walk, so something - read, walk, take a drive, etc.....but do SOMETHING for 20 minutes.  Then if you really ARE hungry after that 20 minutes), eat a healthy snack.

Sometimes that 20 minute distraction is all it takes.

Also, remember - FLUIDS!  Sometimes when we feel hungry, it's actually our body needing water...so sip, sip, sip instead of "grazing"...

Hope these help!

Children's Vitamins are just that - for CHILDREN!  I'd SERIOUSLY question any surgeon *****commends taking them.

Centrum, Bariatric Advantage, Celebrate, Building blocks....With the exception of Centrum are DESIGNED for bariatric patients.  But they are ADULT vitamins - and (except Centrum) are formulated for mal-absorbtive systems....

Just my $.02!

AWARENESS is the key......sounds like a good plan about picking up good healthy protein snacks  to clear up the difference between snacking ( a planned meal) and grazing.

Also, try (if possible) to crank up your ipod, get your nails done, or something non food related to help you think other thoughts.

Always remember..........
