I know a few people who have had surgery w/ Dr. Myers -- they have nothing but positive things to say / results to date.  hang in there and try to get an email address from one of the NUTs (dietician).  I've found through my program at OSU (insurance would only approve OSU or I would have been at Dr. Myers' with you!) the NUTs are a wealth of knowledge.

There may quite a few Dr. Myers patients on OH -- ask some questions there, too.

I'm learning this process is not quick...it's a lesson in patience!

Good luck and hang in there!

BTW- Thank you Libit!

I wouldn't mind being at the Clinic.

Makes me wonder about the rest of the process as well.

Take care!

The three major programs in Columbus is what my insurance will allow. I did check out one of the other ones. So many extra charges--even to the point of paying separatelt out  of pocket for his OR nurse!? That one's got quite the racket going! I wonder how this is ethical and how they get through the hospital's IRB. Yeesh!

I'm so sorry to hear that this is how your journey has started.  Maybe where you are isn't the best place for you to go.  Are there other local options?  My experiences with the Clevelend Clinic were awesome -- they always made time for my questions and didn't make me feel a part of the herd.  Reading what you are already experiencing makes me a little concerned for how the rest of the process will go for you there.

Good luck!  Hugs!!!

Try and make contact again.  Maybe the message was lost, forgot, misplaced.

Topic: Navigating the WLS program office
I am starting my journey here in Columbus. I have had my first set of appointments, and have scheduled psych eval and sleep study. I have seen the nurse and the dietician.

Maybe I am spoiled having had exceptional medical services. I am finding it very frustrating to try to talk to a person who is part of the program staff. There seems to be a steady stream of patients in and out of the doors, so I know they are busy. Waiting a week however, for a simple question to be answered seems a bit on the "not so personalized" medicine side (something that this hospital promises).

I am feeling like part of the herd!

Thanks!

Any tips appreciated.

Give it time....start with less time and work yourself up to the 30 mins.
