We flew into Pearson last year and we used Aerofleet to take us to Hamilton. There were 3 of us in a nice luxury towncar and it was about $90. You could check them out or just rent a car right at Pearson and drive to Hamilton.
Here is Aerofleet's website, they were quick to confirm the cost of the trip and showed up right on time as planned.

there are a couple of transit shuttles..like the Robert Q and another one that name escapes me..sorry..if i remember i will post again

GO Transit to Hamilton is a pain - you essentially have to take the GO bus to Union Station or Square One and then either the train or express bus (from Union - the bus is the best bet IF it's not rush hour) or a bus from Square One to Hamilton.
Your best way would be Airways transit - OR if there is more than one of you - just grab an airport limo...

I was told that West Jet flies from Wpg to Hamilton, direct. I know that might not help much if you're coming from Thunder Bay, but that's what I was told. I also think that the advice about your options are all good, so hopefully you'll find what works best for you. Wishing you all the luck in the world!
