Day 3 optifast-migraine
So I am on day 3 of Optifast. My journey so far has been awful.
Day 1 I was only able to get 1 packet down. I had a 2 cups of broth and some SF jello.
Day 2 I wasn't able to eat anything as I had my endoscope at 1115 and then had a bad reaction to the anesthetic and was vomitting until about 6pm. I had 1 slice of dry toast and then the vomitting stopped and I called it a night.
Day 3 it is noon and have had 1optifast and can't even think of having another. I have this wierd full but empty feeling and a migraine too. I am drinking water but that just keepsme hydrated.
I know I only am on this for 2 weeks but that seems like forever!!!

That just sucks. Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Some people can just not tolerate Optifast. Sounds like the scope added fuel to the fire. Don't wait too long before contacting the clinic/surgeon. They may have an alertative as Laura mentioned. Hydration is key so keep at it.
I had a migraine for 4 straight days on Optifast and it finally let up. Dark room and lots of rest. I had to think of Optifast as 'medicine'. Not sure if this will help, but the smell was what got me heaving. I had to drink it out of a sports bottle; add 50% more water than recommended on the directions and I could only drink them with 1/2 pkt vanilla mixed with 1/2 pkt of chocolate. On their own they were just not good for me.
Hope you are better soon,
Kristie

Yeah, you've had a rough start! You *need* to keep drinking your Optifast though - what you are consuming is not near enough calories or nutrients. I'm not surprised you have a migraine - you're not getting anything into you. Hang in there and keep trying!

I had migraines & a horrible bout of IBS since starting Opti too. I called the centre and they helped. I was getting in the 4pkg a day and broth/SF Jello to see if it would help...but nothing did! I didnt know what was worse - not sleeping because of the migraines, or being in the bathroom all night dealing with the IBS. Either way I ended up getting only 2hrs. of sleep a night!
If it continues - give your center a call and see if they can do anything for you.

You are detoxing. I had the same thing for first 4 days or so then it got better. Ride it out.
I was hurting muchly, cranky and just generally out of sorts . Though those that know me might say that they didn't see a difference. .. i love my friends.
