Had my one-week checkup
Saw the nurse practitioner this afternoon - I was worried about my blood pressure b/c I was not put back on my meds after surgery. All's well - it's high normal right now, but that seems to be okay and I'm satisfied. My sugars have been stable in the 6's since surgery, so no metformin for now. I got on my own scale this morning to see where I was at, and I was down 23 lbs since the start of optifast, but I a down 28 lbs since I was first weighed at the assessment centre. And our scales are the same (except at home I was nekid, and on theirs, not nekid!) I notice that I have no swelling in my ankles at all, and I've been living with cankles mostly every day for quite some time. And I also notice that my face has lost its big puffy look as well. So far, so good!
Had RNY surgery July 22/11, St. Joe's Hamilton, with the awesome Dr. Scott Gmora. Had abdominoplasty August 2/13, Scarborough, with equally awesome Dr. Michael Kreidstein.

That's fantastic news Megan - already off the meds, and already seeing progress both on the scale and on your face and ankles. And this is just the beginning!!!!!!!!!
