One Down....
Had my appointment with the nurse practionner today! I saw Florence at TWH and I seriously can not say enough about how nice this woman was. When I'm nervous I either withdraw or chatter too much and today was one of those chatter days and she just listened with a smile.
For those curious or still waiting for their appointment - it went like this....
Filled out a form with my contact information and doctors information
Answered a questionnaire related to sleep apnea
Got weighed - measured my height, neck, and waist
She went over the forms I had filled out in the waiting room and said I didn't need a sleep study based on the fact that I only scored a 2/8 in the criteria and they refer people with a 3/8 for a sleep study.
She did an extensive medical history including questions directly about me and questions directly about my extended family members (mother, father, grandparents, siblings, etc).
Blood pressure, sats, heart rate, listened to heart and lungs, felt around my stomach
End of appointment : )
Took about 50 minutes from start to finish....
Ta-Da!!
She didn't do blood as I had a blood panel done a couple months ago for my phsyical with my doctor so I am just going to get my doctor to fax a copy over to her.
Next appointment on July 26 with Jairo the Social Worker
