St. Jos and toe polish rules?

I was thinking of having a pedicure before my surgery on the 29th and wondered if anyone who had their surgery at St. Jos in Hamilton knows if they allow you to have polish on your toenails. I will probably just have a french to be sure?

Sorry, no polish on fingers or toes.  They will make you remove it.  The nurse that checked me in actually checked my toes.  We had a good laugh because I hadn't painted my toes in over 15 years! lol

They need to be able to check your oxygenation, by the colour of your nail beds. Usually they just use the fingernails, but if those aren't available for some reason, they may need to use your toes.

I waited until 2 weeks after my surgery and treated myself to a manicure and pedicure.  It felt so good then.

When I was wheeled into the operating room, I made a comment about waiting until afterwards to get a mani/pedi.  One of the nurses (it may have been the anethestist) said that a pedi would have been okay, just not the mani.  But I'd go in clean to be sure.
