Question for a friend!

Hi All,
I'm a QC resident who just recently had VSG surgery done in Montreal and I have a co-worker who has been thinking about surgery but she resides in Ontario so I'm not sure what the steps are for her to take. Her GP is also in QC and isn't quite sure of how it works. Can someone please outline this for me or link me to a post of what needs to be done? I'm sure there has to be something out there but I've found nothing.

Here is site from the Ministry of Health. Her doctor has to put a referral in with the government then they decide where she goes. The hospital then contacts her with an orientation appointment.

I live in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and I was referred in June and had my orientation Sept 6th at Toronto West Hospital. IS your friend from Northern Ontario? If so she can get a travel great for her appointments. Here is the site.
