I had surgery July 25th and have lost 40 lbs. I lost 15lbs on optifast.
I had a 3 week stall at the end of August-Sept. but have since started again slowly. 2lbs a week or so.I have just started going for really long wlks in thelast week to increase my cardio also partly due to a challnge at work to walk 10 000 steps a day. We all have pedometers and track them weekly.
Any suggestions how to up this.

that is an excellent challange to walk 10 000 steps a day at work congrats on that, and walking is really good for you u seem like you r rite on track to me i am just a few weeks ahead of you and i lost 17 lbs on the optifast, and from there it went a little slow but i just keep telling myself that i am doing everything i can doing what i am suposed to be doing and you will do alrite i do have to say that the protein getting it all in surly does help with the weight loss so make sure you are getting the recommended amount in.  i hope i helped you even in a small way and congrats on the weight loss so far yay!!!

Thanks. I see so many people at the same time frame or less that have lost more. I know I shouldn't compare, but I try to rationalize. I am 5"11 and my starting weigh was 294 and now 241. I think some of my demons crop up and I get scared I won't succeed.

I've been feeling the same way - worried I'm not losing enough quick enough. I had surgery on July 27th and have lost 49lbs as of this morning but given my starting weight (353) I feel I should be further along.

BUT...then my rational side kicks in and I think that's 49lbs I know I wouldn't have lost without the surgery and as long as I keep losing, I'm happy

I know it'll come off. I'm eating right, exercising. It'll come off.

I feel exactly the same way Tango..  My surgery was Aug. 16 and I can't help but feel I should be down more but I keep "stalling" though I've been told that it's not a stall but simply my body adjusting.

So I'll encourage you not to worry and tell you that everyone's body goes at a different pace.  And I'll try taking a little of my own advice too!  ;)

Tango you not alone,  I had my surgery on August 15th and I feel the same way I have lost 40lbs so far.  I know that's a lot of weight in a short time and without surgery it would have never happened.  I am walking an hour a day and eating properly the things I should but the scale doesn't seem to be moving as quick as others.  We are all individual.... patience I have told myself is the key.
I tell myself that when the scale isn't moving my body is adjusting and it could be inches coming off instead of weight.

If we are eating, exercising and following the rules it's bound to catch up and the weight will start coming off again we are too early out to be making major mistakes.  Hang in there your not alone in this.

Okay, where the heck were you and the other posters when I was recently out of surgery!??
We see the one extreme successed online, but we don't seem to see the slower extreme.
Do me a favour, do not compare, please, please, do not do that to yourself.

Make sure you are getting your protein and make sure you are eating breakfast.
Also, make sure you follow your clinics guidelines about when to drink/stop drinking around the solids.
And get all your water/fluids in.

Steps:
Park further; take a detour to the furthest door.
Take some stairs.
Do an aerobics class
Get a group of coworkers and go for a quick walk in the afternoon to break the afternoon sluggish feeling.
Walk around your car before getting in (pretend you are looking for something so people don't think you are crazy).

Oh I am in the same boat! I seem now to be at a stall and it is driving me nuts! lol I am doing Zumba at the gym 3 times a week and trying to get in extra workouts too!

Down 40 since Aug 9th and then stalled 2 weeks ago! Boo!

BUT I would rather loose it slow then too fast, I really don't want hanging flabby skin!

So hang in there!!

Starting weight 258
Current weight 167
Down 91 lbs

August 11th surgery here and 38 since surgery (plus 16 on optifast the two weeks before that).  Glad to hear I'm not alone!  LOL When you put it into perspective though, that's 54 pounds in 2 months.   I will take that.  Not sure what I expected, but although I wish the number was higher, it is WAY more than I ever would have lost on my own, so I won't complain!  LOL

You guys are all doing great!  Keep up the great job!

I am pre-surgery, but in addition to the comments already made, all of which I agree with, I think sometimes the weight trackers can be a bit deceiving (for lack of a better word).  For many of us, we post the highest weight we were, not the weight at the beginning of Opti or the weight at the time of surgery.

Here is a post from FlyingWoman that I think you may find helpful.  Hopefully, she does not mind my posting it to help someone else:
