I was wondering, can RNY surgery be refused if i have lymphadeama?.. i am going through some major crap right now....on sunday my legs were red, swollen and itchy...then i noticed blisters on my right leg...i had a doctor look at it and he gave me antibiotics and told me to use cetaphil lotion to help with the itching..the antibiotics would take about 3 days before i would notice any effect..well today i noticed blisters on my left leg and i am freaking out...i may have to go to emergency later tonight...but i am just growing frustrated at everything that is happening to me and i am afraid that the surgeon may choose to not do RNY and i will be devastated...any help or advice would be helpful..
Thanks everyone
Mary

This sounds more like cellulitis, which requires an antibiotic. Is that perhaps what you have?

I agree with Karen sounds more like a cellulitis. I would not think it would prevent surgery. They may want it cleared up first if you have infection. Do you have a history of swelling/block lymph nodes?
