I've got resistance bands, but honestly not sure what to do with them. Do you have something that you do online, or a dvd that you follow or something?

I have a chart that came with the bands with about 16 exercises on them.  I do each of the 16 exercises 30 times.  It gives a "full" body workout.

Morning all :)

Ann, can I have your recipe for the chicken pecan salad please? And could you post it on the recipe forum?

Work work work, that's all I ever do. *snicker* And I'm working 'til 9 tonight too, committee meeting.

B - coffee with milk x 2, protein bar
S - a few bites of the most delicious broccoli salad
L - broccoli salad! Oh, and some ham and cheese, maybe a cracker or two
S - laughing at myself - if the broccoli salad isn't gone, I'll be having that. If so, old cheddar and a couple of crackers, handful of grapes
D - Well. Hmmm. Seems I took nothing out. BUT! I do have some ground beef out so I think I will make meatloaf.

Have a wonderful day!

Hey everybody.

Last night's walk was ... interesting. Glad I wasn't wearing a jacket, or I would've blown away! As it was, I had trouble keeping my feet under me at times. Talk about gusty!

This "not running" thing (due to the chest pains) really has me down. Such a bummer when your hopes are dashed.
Keeping up the walking though, and will start cycling this coming weekend.

B - bowl of oat cereal w 1/2 banana large coffee
 S - homemade fruit smoothie w tofu
L - bowl of chili from the caff
S - protein bar, mint tea
 D - curried chicken w sweet potatoes & couscous

All vitamins in.

I am dead serious when I say I had to hold onto the lamp post at the intersection here at City Hall when waiting to cross the street at lunch time. lol

Gaby, I hope you're coming to coffee on Thursday?  There are some things I wanna talk to you about. XOXO

If it's the one from WLS for Dummies Cookbook, this is likely the one.

Fresh grilled chicken breast is low in fat yet high in flavor and protein, and this tasty
chicken salad with crunchy pecans and a hint of lemon makes a perfect filling for a wrap
or topping for a fresh tossed salad. Did you know that pecans are the only nut tree
native to the United States? These tasty nuts are a good source of vitamin E, an antioxidant,
and can help lower LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Stage: Regular foods

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 8 minutes
Chilling time: 4 to 6 hours

Yield: 4 servings (1 cup each)

1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder
1⁄4 teaspoon black pepper
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
1 pound boneless skinless chicken breast
1 teaspoon olive oil
1⁄4 cup minced celery
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1⁄4 cup chopped green onions
1⁄4 cup pecans, chopped
1⁄4 cup light mayonnaise

1 Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal or gas grill.
2 In a medium mixing bowl, combine paprika, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, and
salt. Brush the chicken with oil and then toss with the spice mixture.
3 Place the chicken on the hot grill and cook for 4 minutes. Turn the chicken over and
grill an additional 4 minutes. Test doneness by inserting an instant-read thermometer
into the thickest part of the chicken and checking that it registers 165 degrees.
4 Let chicken cool until you can handle it; then cut into 1⁄2-inch cubes. In a medium mixing
bowl, combine chicken, celery, lemon juice, green onions, pecans, and mayonnaise and
mix well.
5 Refrigerate for 4 to 6 hours before serving.

Yes - that is it - I just cooked it in the frying pan - not on the grill.

It is so darn yummy - I put it in a whole wheat pita.  It is good either hot or cold.

Sounds yummy, I'll try it.  I have a love affair with pecans.

Today I had a job interview! My daughter did not approve of any of my choices of over-sized clothes I had on hand, so she fished some things out of her closet, and they fit!!!  Apparently, now we can shop at Rikki's together!

She also didn't approve of my 'old lady shoes' so I had to stop in to Payless last night where they had the perfect pair of classic mid-heel black pumps on sale for $20.  Unfortunately, my daughter's feet are still about a half-size smaller than mine, but it's closer than they were a year ago.

B - 1/2 c ff cott cheese w/blackberries and nsf rasp jam
S - 1 tb pumpkin seeds and 2 dates
L - Premier shake
S - Kashi bar or 1/2 protein bar
D - maybe leftover quinoa with chickpeas and stir-fried zucchini, bok choy and edemame
S - raw veggies with light Laughing Cow and/or a plum

2 coffees and 2 l water
