How much time off work?
I am just starting the process but curious as to how much time off work I would need. I have 2 weeks of holidays left that I've booked but haven't used yet and could be rescheduled. I have a desk job and came back to work 2 weeks after a colon resection and hysterectomy last year. Other than being tired I was ok.

Hi
They recommend 2 weeks off work if you are not lifting anything over 10 pounds, but I personally took
off 6 weeks so that I could get lots of rest and get used to the change in eating, at my job I couldn't
leave my desk unless I was scheduled to leave, so I wanted to make sure that my body was in tune
with everything else, LOL
You should ask your surgeron!!!
Take care and good luck

I am two weeks post op and am returning. I would not have wanted to do so earlier for many reasons. I needed a lot of naps and struggled to get all the protein and water in the first week and a half or so. Its good now though! But I will not lift anything heavier than a remote for a few more monthes!
I am taking 6 weeks off. Well not really, cause I run a home daycare so I hired an assistant. I'll be half working for 4 weeks, than 2 weeks vacation!
But I work with kids, lots of carrying. My surgeon said that 2 weeks was fine to get back to work but no lifting! Try not to lift 2 years old! lol!!!
